@DrPlantel Certain things the medical field does amazingly well - replacing bad body parts - and some things it does amazingly bad - addressing chronic illnesses. Why are we not allowed to question the things that they do badly without being called "anti science?"

Tell me you hate modern medicine without telling me. There are people who genuinely think humanity “thrived” for thousands of years without modern medicine. Uh… what? Before modern public health and medicine, average life expectancy at birth was roughly 30 to 40 years, largely because so many infants and children died young. Infectious disease, famine, injuries, and death in childbirth were common. Yes, some people reached old age and cultures flourished but health and survival were far more precarious. That’s not thriving. That’s surviving and modern medicine is the reason we get to confuse the two today.

I’m with her! The new Apple update is so bad! I did it only because I was forced to because I purchased a new Mac! I did manage to disable a few features though! Don’t do it if you don’t have to! 🤨

@politicalmath There's no where to dump the used oil anymore. Not allowed to put it down the storm drains, or in the trash can, you have to take it somewhere to be disposed of. That's why no one changes their own oil anymore.

Technically, I can change the oil in my own car. I know how and I'm physically capable of it. The reason I don't is because it's a giant pain in the ass so I can save $30.

@ADHDForReal C.) Pretend trumpet to my dog who gets irritated, grabs it away from me, whips it around back and forth like its breaking its prey's spinal cord and then proceeds to tear it up into a million pieces for me to later clean up all over the house.

@itskikidanger @Corbienest I did successfully make croissants once, and I do rolls for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I understand the workings of yeast but I think I've messed them up too many times. I do want to try sourdough this winter. It's my January task. I make my own pasta, too. I love food.

I like Red Star. It’s non gmo. I get the active dry, and it blooms beautifully. While it’s blooming in warm water with the sugar (100-109 degrees, I just use a meat thermometer to check), I measure my flour and by the time I’m done, it’s done. Less than 5 min. In this recipe, bloom it in the warm milk. Same temp. I want to do sourdough, but I can’t get a starter right yet. It either bubbles all over the place, or doesn’t at all lmao. It’s a mess. You can def do it. I’m the most impatient person, but bread baking is a way to keep myself in check 🤭

To make four cheeseburgers with pickles, onion, tomato, lettuce, ketchup and mustard on a sesame seed bun, if I had to purchase everything would cost $28 ($7 per burger) but there is a sale at Shaws so it would actually cost $12 (3 per burger). But I cook regularly so the only things I’d actually need to purchase would be the buns and the meat which runs me $11 and means I no longer meet the criteria for the sale prices. Which is fine and still makes each burger under $3. Don’t believe the lies that cooking at home is more expensive. “But I live alone” cool. Shape four burger patties, cook one and freeze 3 for next time you want a burger. You can freeze the buns, too. Bread freezes beautifully. Use the rest of the veggies to make a salad to take to work with you tomorrow. “But I’m allergic to histamines and can’t do leftovers” luckily, freezing prevents that process so you’re fine 🤗

Rent for one bedroom is $1,600. That means you need over $4,500 a month just to qualify. Show me the 22 year old making $72,000 a year for a starter apartment.

@RobinHart4589 @DelgadoforNY Maybe. VT plan was the ACA was going to fund much of it, but since it was not an individual plan from the marketplace the Fed Gov did not pay up and they had to. NY plan is not counting on any Fed Gov support.

@DelgadoforNY Please go ask Vermont how their plan went. It was started in 2011 and abandoned by 2014 due to costs. It all sounds really good until you actually run the numbers. Good luck NY, you're going to be taxed up the wazoo.

@BusyPoorDad @DelgadoforNY Vermont tried this in 2011 and abandoned it by 2014 due to the high costs and taxes necessary to support it. But somehow NY will do it better.

@DelgadoforNY Medicaid for all. Good luck paying for it. But as a state you are allowed to do this and show everyone how or if it works. My guess is the state budget goes up by $290 billion

@financedystop Husband worked for a take out container company. He went to an Applebee's and the kitchen was nothing but microwaves. I believe this for most of the chain restaurants, but there are still a few around that do make their own food and you can certainly tell the difference.

@Sb2356 @wakeupnj We were lucky, we found a family that had a rescue they couldn't keep so we did a private sale. Rescues are shooting themselves in the feet with all their restrictions and demands. Don't have a fence? No dogs for you. Even though we've trained 2 not to leave our yard.

@RobinHart4589 @wakeupnj Yup, had this issue with rescue agencies when we tried to adopt. Ended up going to a breeder for a dog instead. Not all but, many agencies are so stuck up that many people don't want to be bothered and just go buy a dog. Rescues can be their own worst enemies sometimes.

I was surprised as hell to see this. Dude starts asking the teacher questions which she has no problem answering, until they’re questions she doesn’t want to hear. After saying that the school will defend illegals from ICE, she asks him for identification. He catches her up and she’s not happy about it. Unreal.

Under current law, the gun industry gets special treatment, protecting them from liability and denying victims and their families justice. It’s time to hold the gun industry accountable. I’m supporting @RepSwalwell’s bill and standing with victims of gun violence.

@BoomerDivvies It was 1989 at the height of the housing market. We got a townhouse through a lottery. Stayed there 7 years and took a loss on it to buy the house we still live in. Oh, and we had a variable interest rate that started at 11%. We were in our 20's and newly married.

How old were you when you bought your first home? What mattered more to you, timing the market or just getting started? I was 29 and bought a smaller, older house which worked out great. Glad I made the move when I did.
