It was a pleasure to participate in the convocation ceremony for almost 1000 graduands at @SIU_UNIVERSITY in Mogadishu. I spoke to the youth about building resilience among young people through destroying the mountains of unemployment in Somalia.

The UN's currently known as UNTMIS, is scheduled to close in October 2026. This office has mediated almost all of the major issues. However, Somalia is now at a juncture, requiring mediation for matters such as constitution, federal structures, security & managing the transition.

As the first Somali NI Human Rights Commissioner (July 2025), his role strengthens our global peace mission. 🌍✌️

In Somalia, accommodative politics cannot be established by the President, it falls to the PM and his cabinet role, who have lost relevance over the past three years. It is crucial to bring effective government to address contentious issues & ensure a peaceful transition.

As civil society organizations in Puntland, we held discussions with the UN Human Rights Rapporteur, Mr. Ben Sual, focusing on the impact of terrorist groups and their extortions on human rights.

Civil society and Somali intellectuals can play a significant role in providing opinions on controversial issues to political leaders and the international community to ensure that the transition is managed effectively. @UNTMIS_

I spoke to hundreds of high school and university graduates at the Police Academy of Puntland in the Armo district about building trust between the police and the public in order to establish a trustable and ethical police agency in Puntland. @CESSomalia

#Turkey is planning to deploy a few thousand forces in #Somalia, provided by the private company #Sadat. This comes despite Somalia expecting military personnel to eliminate Al-shabab terrorists. #Turkey has many lucrative business interests in Mogadishu.

Turkey has militarily assisted Sudan and Ethiopia to defeat their rebellions. In contrast, Turkey has been providing assistance to Somalia for 14 years, yet no progress in eliminating AS terrorists. Turkey's involvement in Somalia began in 2010 when Islamist came to power.

No country provides assistance to another without its national interests. Historically, #Turkey entered #Somalia when the Islamists came to power in 2010, while nearly two decades earlier, Somalia was in civil war, destruction and famine.
