And @RCBTweets has finalised a sale with a valuation of 1.78 billion USD to a consortium that includes the Birlas, Times of India, Blitzer and Blackstone. It isn't too far above what @rajasthanroyals got but then this is a peculiar ecosystem where the income and expenses of a franchise are almost identical. So, in the space of a few hours, the #IPL has seen deals worth 3.4 billion USD. The #IPL is among the big leagues of the world and the Indian cricket fan is among the most important entities in world sport

Apple exceeds iPhone production target under PLI by 80% ₹6,02,324 crore in iPhone production vs ₹3,35,331 crore committed under PLI. 25% of global iPhone output now from India. ₹2,27,000 crore in FY26 alone (+24% YoY). Apple Inc. + India’s PLI has been a stellar success story Next leap: hopefully push value addition deeper including components, chips, and local supply ecosystems. via @bsindia

#OneWordReview... #DhurandharTheRevenge: MASTERPIECE. Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐⭐️½ #Dhurandhar2 is CINEMA AT ITS BEST... Delivers on every front – scale, drama, emotions, action, performances and impact... Take a bow, #AdityaDhar – sure-shot EPIC BLOCKBUSTER. #Dhurandhar2Review The expectations from the sequel to #Dhurandhar were naturally sky-high... Thankfully, #DhurandharTheRevenge not only meets those mammoth expectations – it surpasses them by leaps and bounds. Director #AdityaDhar returns with a vision that is bigger, sharper and far more ambitious... While the first part laid the foundation, #DhurandharTheRevenge elevates the narrative to an entirely new level. What truly makes #DhurandharTheRevenge stand out is its emotional core... Beneath the spectacle lies a powerful story of courage, resilience, revenge and justice – elements that linger long after the screening ends. The screenplay is the film's backbone – tightly written, fast-paced and loaded with goosebumps-inducing moments... Just when you feel the film has reached its peak, it raises the bar yet again. The climax deserves special mention – explosive, emotional and immensely satisfying... In fact, the final moments will leave you speechless – that's the kind of impact the film has when you exit the auditorium. In short, if you loved the first part, you are going to adore the second instalment... #AdityaDhar once again proves that he is a magician, delivering a sequel that not only matches the impact of the first part but elevates the experience to an even higher level. The performances are top-notch across the board... #RanveerSingh delivers a towering act, portraying strength, intensity and vulnerability with equal finesse... He is the backbone, the soul and the lifeline of the sequel... Easily THE BEST performance of his career. The duology – #Dhurandhar and #DhurandharTheRevenge – will undoubtedly go down as landmark milestones in his career. Now for the big question: Who is Bade Saab?… Get ready to be shockeD. Also, a powerful actress makes a striking cameo appearance. #SanjayDutt is phenomenal – his towering screen presence, commanding dialogue delivery and intimidating aura are a major plus. #RMadhavan is remarkable, delivers a performance that is both restrained and powerful... His scenes are filled with intensity and emotional weight, leaving a lasting impression. #ArjunRampal is terrific – suave, vicious, menacing and completely in control... He proves once again why he excels in layered roles. #SaraArjun holds her own in a film dominated by powerhouse performers. #RakeshBedi deserves a special mention... He is fantastic... This film will always stand out in his four-decade-plus career. #UdaybirSandhu [as Pinda], #AnkitSagar [as Khanani], #VivekSinha [as Zahoor], #ManavGohil [as Sushant], #GauravGera [as Aalam], and #DanishPandor [as Uzair Baloch] excel in their respective roles. Like the first part, #ShashwatSachdev delivers some solid tracks once again... However, #Aandhi or #Shararat kind of chartbusters would've added tremendous value to the proceedings... The makers also integrate vintage songs seamlessly. The dialogues deserve special mention too: punchy, powerful and perfectly designed to evoke whistles and thunderous applause. The action sequences are staged with tremendous style and scale... The background score elevates the drama magnificently, while the cinematography captures the film's grand canvas with striking visuals. Special mention must also be made of the razor-sharp editing, which ensures the film never loses momentum. ⭐️ Final word? Get ready for a BOXOFFICE TSUNAMI once again... Get ready for HISTORY to be recreated once again... This one is set to DEMOLISH existing records and CREATE new benchmarks.

India is quietly rolling out one of the most ambitious public AI compute programs in the world. Through the IndiaAI Compute Portal, startups and researchers can access subsidized GPUs at ₹65/hour ($0.77). More than 38,000 GPUs are already live under the national AI mission, with additional capacity planned — aimed at lowering the barrier to entry for startups, academia, and public-sector labs. A year ago, sustained training runs were out of reach for many Indian AI teams. Today, the government is treating compute like shared infrastructure: pooled, subsidized, and broadly accessible. It’s not cheap enough for frontier-scale training but it could materially expand who gets to experiment, build, and ship. This is one of the most interesting AI infrastructure experiments happening right now and it’s worth paying attention to. Well done INDIA !

Growing up in Chennai, I remember the trips to Central to book train tickets. It was a massive hall with several ticket counters. One had to fill a form/card like thing with details of destination, train, passengers etc. Then the discovery at the counter about wait listed seats. For us Chennai-BLR (Brindavan Express) and Chennai-Mangalore (I think it was West Coast Express) was the most common one. Obviously there was no way to inform family members of the details on mobile. Air tickets were booked through a travel agency. The company I worked for booked air tickets for travel. For wait listed tickets there was some pleading at the counter to accommodate us and confirm the travel. I remember some taking 'urgent' telex messages like 'father unwell come soon' to push one's luck for ticket confirmation ('89-90 I think). All this sounds like those tales of 'I studied under street lights, walked 10Km and then crossed a river to school' etc. Those born in the 90s and 2000s are fortunate not to witness such.

@GautamGambhir didn’t just pick talent — he picked belief. Samson, Ishan Kishan, Abhishek Sharma, Shivam Dube— these were all players who needed a coach to say “I trust you.” Gambhir was that coach. He backed them to the hilt. And they repaid him in the grandest fashion possible. For trust, faith and man-management of the right players — 10/10. Gautam Gambhir was that truly special coach !

🚨 JUST IN: A migratory bird just shattered world records — flying 8,425 miles (13,560 km) NON-STOP across the Pacific without landing once. The bar-tailed godwit doesn’t stop to eat, drink, or sleep during its migration across the Pacific Ocean. Its journey from Alaska to Australia takes roughly 11 days of continuous flight, covering over 13,000 kilometers through storms, headwinds, and open ocean with zero land beneath it the entire time. Before departure, it does something almost surgical to its own body. It shrinks its digestive organs down to almost nothing, converting the stomach, intestines, and liver into raw fuel. The bird essentially eats its own gut to make room for fat reserves that will power its wings for nearly two weeks straight. The brain doesn’t fully sleep either. Half of it stays active while the other half rests, alternating in shifts mid-flight at altitude over the open Pacific. The godwit is simultaneously unconscious and navigating with magnetic field sensitivity that no human instrument in the 18th century could replicate. What makes this genuinely staggering beyond the physical record is the navigational precision involved. The bird leaves Alaska and arrives in New Zealand with accuracy that would embarrass early GPS systems. It reads Earth’s magnetic field, atmospheric pressure gradients, star positions, and potentially quantum-level compass mechanisms inside its eye that literally let it see magnetic field lines overlaid on its visual field. Evolution spent millions of years building an aerospace navigation system inside a 300 gram animal. We spend billions engineering machines that do what this bird does on instinct, fat reserves, and half a sleeping brain. The longest recorded non-stop flight by a commercial aircraft is around 20 hours. This bird does 11 days. Without a runway.

I remember when Pat Cummins won the World Cup, he casually walked out of the Airport with the trophy, with barely any crowd outside waiting. Aussies won so much that it became routine. Diminishing marginal utility. I think the Open Bus parade this year won’t attract the crowd like it did the last time. Our T20 team will become so strong that a WC will be inevitable. Great times to be in.

#BREAKING: India holds over 250 million barrels of crude oil and refined petroleum products combined - approximately 4,000 crore litres. This translates into 7 to 8 weeks of buffer coverage across the full supply chain. These stocks are not held in a single location or a single form. They are distributed across above-ground storage tanks, underground strategic caverns, pipeline systems, terminal tankage, offshore storage vessels in transit, and the three dedicated strategic petroleum reserve facilities at Mangalore, Padur, and Visakhapatnam. India is well stocked with crude oil, petrol, diesel, ATF, LPG, and LNG, with sufficient inventories to handle short-term disruptions, while continuing to source energy from multiple global suppliers. Claims circulating that global oil supplies have stopped or that India has reserves for only 25 days are incorrect and do not reflect the actual supply and stock position. - Indian Government Sources

"India may have millions of AI developers, but very few people actually building the frontier." Prof. Balaraman Ravindran (head of the Wadhwani School of Data Science & AI at Indian Institute of Technology Madras) Good insights • India is strong in AI applications and frugal innovation • But lacks enough research engineers working on core models, training efficiency and AI hardware • Compute infrastructure and research funding remain major bottlenecks • Universities often reserve scarce compute for papers rather than deep experimentation. What India needs in his assessment • Large compute clusters accessible to researchers • Long-term VC bets in AI research • Attracting diaspora talent • Building institutions focused on frontier AI via @timesofindia
