Quadcopters dominate today because they’re cheap, simple, and disposable But physics hasn’t changed Electric helicopter style UAVs are far more efficient, carry more, and go farther As autonomy improves and cost comes down, we’ll see them play a much bigger role in warfare🤝

@alexpark seems software development as a career will be replaced by AI with a year or 2, however there is still a window to get hired by hardware companies using your software skills. and especially hardware in farm tech. last chance pivot!

@RoboHomestead would you kindly espouse a bit more on this subject for the uninitiated folks like myself who are just tipping into this domain without much prior experience or context

It’s simple, buy an EV. Get solar, if possible, with a battery system. Get heat pumps for your heat and air. And no need for oil and gas at all. Even just heat pumps and an EV will cut your cost of living by a ton. Lots of cheap EVs out there right now.

Most people think AI will disrupt offices. Peter Thiel thinks its reshaping farms. Solar-powered collars replace fences. Cows become data streams. Herding becomes software. Halter just hit a $2B valuation in a down market. Halter’s technology is designed to create a virtual fence for cattle and enable farmers to monitor the animals’ locations and health indicators through an app. Its collars, which are solar-powered, connect to farmers’ phones to allow them to manage pastures remotely, for example, a rancher can herd their cows using vibrations and audio cues from the collars. Didnt expect that.

The bees were buzzing so loud in the peach orchard this Sunday morning that it was a bit intimidating to stand there! <sound on> Also, one of our ducks laid a double-yoke egg that weighed in at 4.8 ounces, more than double the size of the chicken eggs we bought.

Introducing Dasher Tasks Dashers can now get paid to do general tasks. We think this will be huge for building the frontier of physical intelligence. Look forward to seeing where this goes!

@RoboHomestead @Rainmaker1973 They're pretty low on the food chain. If you want to keep them long they need a cage. Actually when you move them daily for most its considered free range.

I’m Paul, and I live off the grid in Southern Oregon. I bought my land for less than $1 k per acre, and my property taxes are less than $100 a year—just enough to keep the government at bay. My cabin is small, but it’s mine. I’ve got food and medicinal gardens, and I raise quail for eggs and meat. The beauty of it all is that I don’t rely on much. My cabin stays warm with wood heat, and the sun and rain give me everything I need to keep my phone charged and my garden thriving. It’s simple, and it’s enough. You don’t have to be wealthy to live like this. You just have to be resourceful, mindful of your true needs, and wise about how you use your resources. Now, I’m heading into my third winter, and I’m still in love with the quiet, slow mornings and the endless dark skies. There's something magical about it all. Living this way has taught me that simplicity is the most profound luxury. There’s peace in knowing that the things that matter most—nature, self-sufficiency, and the land you call home—are all within reach. It’s not about having more; it’s about having what you need. So be easy, and find your own version of peace in the simplicity. Credit: Paul via FB
