GmeStop $GME just said it has made a ~$56 Billion unsolicited bid to acquire $EBAY
GameStop CEO Ryan Cohen has already built a ~5% stake in eBay and is offering to buy the rest at ~$125 per share in cash and stock
Cohen said he has a commitment letter from TD Bank to provide around $20 billion in debt financing to help make a deal possible
If eBay isn’t receptive to the proposal, Cohen said he was prepared to run a proxy fight and take his offer directly to shareholders

Regular U.S. equity trading (NYSE/Nasdaq) runs Monday–Friday, 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM ET. However, the trading week effectively begins on Sunday evening through two parallel channels:
1. Futures Market Open
•Major index futures (e.g., E-mini S&P 500, Nasdaq-100) and many commodity futures open on the CME Globex platform at 6:00 PM ET Sunday.
•This session runs nearly 24 hours (with a daily maintenance break) through Friday afternoon and often sets the initial tone for Monday’s cash market.
2. Overnight / Extended-Hours Stock Trading
•Several brokers now offer 24/5 trading (Sunday ~8:00 PM ET through Friday ~8:00 PM ET) for select individual stocks and ETFs.
•Available platforms include:
◦Charles Schwab (thinkorswim): All S&P 500, Nasdaq-100, Dow 30 stocks + 600+ ETFs.
◦Interactive Brokers: 10,000+ US stocks and ETFs.
◦Robinhood, Webull, and others: More limited but still substantial lists of high-volume names.
These are executed via alternative trading systems outside normal exchange hours, so liquidity is thinner, spreads wider, and volatility can be elevated compared to regular session trading.
This Sunday evening window allows positioning or hedging in response to weekend developments before the standard Monday open. It’s fully optional and broker-dependent, but it has become a standard tool for many active traders.
