A 22-year-old woman residing alone in a gated apartment complex in Bengaluru hosted a small, quiet get-together with a few friends at her own flat. There was no loud music or disturbance. But the gathering drew the attention of “society uncles,” who were probably keeping a watch on her daily routine, and who confronted her late at night, questioning her conduct and her right to have guests. They told her that bachelors aren’t allowed in the society and asked her to call the owner of the house. When she calmly told them that she herself was the owner of the flat and was not violating any rule, the situation escalated further, with several committee members entering her home without consent, accusing her of drinking and smoking. Parts of this confrontation were captured on CCTV cameras installed inside her flat for safety, footage that later became central to her case. The society members eventually called the police, but after verifying that no nuisance was being created and that the woman owned the flat, the cops took no action. Rather than letting the episode pass, she chose to pursue legal remedies, sending notices for harassment, trespass, and intimidation. An urgent society meeting was called the same evening, where video footage from her living-room camera was screened before residents. Following this, the accused members were removed from their positions on the society board and fined Rs 20,000 each for violating bylaws. A written apology was issued to her. She was not letting it pass this easy though. Next, she filed a ₹62-lakh civil suit, seeking compensation for mental trauma and reputational harm, along with a permanent injunction to prevent further interference. I hope she wins. This case will be landmark in India because it legally challenges the unchecked authority of RWAs, clearly establishing that society committees have no right to police personal behaviour inside a privately owned home. By treating moral policing as actionable civil harassment with financial consequences, it will set a deterrent precedent and strengthen individual residential autonomy.

Finally watched #Dhurandhar -and what a gripping watch and masterfully made film !!! After years, it felt a like a return of a big canvas film, with a riveting ensemble cast, a movie made for the theatre. Here's what worked superbly Performances- Knockout performance by Akshaye Khanna & Rakesh Bedi, complete intense surrender to character by Ranveer Singh, an understated and fine rendition of Doval by Madhavan, Arjun Rampal menacing as ISI, Sanjay Dutt filling the frame - and Gaurav Gera's dramatic softness as the juice-wallah asset - Set Design & Detailing - for an Indian film maker to produce a film set almost entirely in Karachi is not easy. The settings, political rallies, bazaars recreated with effective detail Music- A big hero of the film- cant get enough of it- repurposing and remixing old clasics, techno rap meets qawaalis and fresh, foot tappping songs all designed to trigger viral Shararat at a whole year of weddings Finally, there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING against Indian Muslims in the movie. The film is about Pakistan's patronage of terrorism. And we have all lived that as Indians for years on end. Conflating an adversary like Pakistan with India's Muslims is an insult to our own people. Btw I watched the movie with, among others, two Muslim friends who enjoyed it as much as I did. Tiny points - I did not love the love angle in the film -expected it to be strategic, not Ishq- and because of the intercutting of real footage and fiction (very powerful tool btw) some parts of the movie will send you back to your research books to check timelines & details-but its a MOVIE, not a documentary !!!! And as movies go- it is an absolutely compelling, mazedaar and riveting watch - larger than life as movies were once meant to be- Congratulations, many, @AdityaDharFilms and team .

Been 9 months of chasing police to take action against a serial rape case filer who has filed 9 rape, Molestation cases and extorting money from people for years FIR was filed in March & police hasn't taken action till date There are audio recording of her advocate demanding money. He has admitted he demanded money on behalf of the woman. I got other victims to give their statement too. BUT still.... This is the same police which arrests a man on mere words of a woman. I am feeling just so angry today. Just so freaking angry. Had a very senior cop not assured me of action I would have released a public statement tagging which police this is and shamed them for being so useless
