@ThePOTSPostman For me, it's a combination of just being so incredibly tired that I can't enter into other people's situations as full as I'd like. But also having to take antidepressants is a blessing and a curse. It makes the lows less low but it also curbs some of the highs.

@owroot These are the shows my boys watched when they were young. Also Beatrix Potter animated stories which were delightful.

My kids watch extremely minimal tv/movies but they have watched Little Bear and Kipper the Dog as we are closing in on the last hours of a long car trip.
They are both from the 90s and they are so slow and relaxing. The VOs, the music, the animation - all of it is basically as gentle as you get in tv form.
I believe a lot of kids shows are totally psychotic and make their brains more addled than they need to be. I don't feel that with Little Bear or Kipper the Dog though. They don't annoy me when I hear them. They feel like 1997 PBS and that's basically the least brain frying option and the best you can get.

@OldHollowTree I did at first. Now my boys go to a wonderful small Christian school.

@lady_valor_07 Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord sees the heart. Yes, we would welcome her!

@OldSovPub My husband and I are both reading it. I can't believe I'd never heard of it before this year.

@ThePOTSPostman Fibromyalgia, hEDS, MCAS. Pain is of course always there and can be utterly debilitating, but complete exhaustion with brainfog is my nemesis.

@daneortlund We just sang this in my church this morning. So much depth in these words.

I come back to this deep wisdom time and again.
"If thou but suffer God to guide thee,
And hope in him through all thy ways,
He'll give thee strength, whate’er betide thee,
And bear thee through the evil days:
Who trusts in God's unchanging love
Builds on the rock that naught can move."

@ThePOTSPostman Yes, so many weird symptoms that didn't seem to be related, lots of injuries from every day activities, constant stomach issues, and getting every bug that went around...and not getting over them easily.

@RepFine All human beings are created in the image of God.

@DiaryofaSickGrl I'm so frustrated right now because I'm dealing with gastroparesis and figuring out what to eat between the MCAS issues and the stomach issues is just so discouraging. And I really love food!

@TolkienWorldG I always cry at this part of the movie! It just embodies hope to me.

Okay... I'm going to sound like real-life @ChrchCurmudgeon here, but here goes...
If you are a church musician, and you honestly want to "lead people in worship" through music, you may want to do the following:
1) Pick a singable key for the median person who doesn't sing all the time. Don't pick a key to highlight your voice.
2) Lower the volume so people can hear the voices of those around them, and themselves.
3) Let people sing the melodies that are familiar to them. While you may want to jazz up or do the latest CCM twist of "Hark the Herald" or "Silent Night"--people can't follow you. They just want to sing the song.
Picking keys to highlight your voice; playing at concert volume; doing creative rearrangements to make the familiar suddenly unfamiliar... all discourage us from singing.
There's NOTHING wrong with highlighting your voice, or playing at concert volume, or doing creative rearrangements of songs... if you are a performer.
Book a gig somewhere! Play out! Be great! Build a following! But please, when we all get together and sing, don't put up barriers to stop us.

@RepThomasMassie I had so much hope that he would be a thoughtful, principled voice of reason and restraint within the Trump admin. So disappointed that he's drunk the Kool aid. 😞

I miss this version of JD Vance.

@twitandrewking Tribe perfume by Coty was affordable, and all my friends wore it. 😊
