@HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN Why is there no gyro aiming in Death Stranding 2? You used to be on top of hardware features like this.
English

@EJAM117 @gregmcantwell @TheCinesthetic Well that seems absurd to me, I always read that as exaggeration but maybe some cinemas/home theatres really don't set up their audio very well, and it's most apparent on Nolan movies.
English

@RockLoi @gregmcantwell @TheCinesthetic I envy you. I literally couldn’t tell you the plot of the movie
English

@EJAM117 @gregmcantwell @TheCinesthetic Audio mixing was definitely questionable, but the only lines of dialogue I missed in the cinema were on the boat and I still enjoyed the movie and didn't gain much more from those lines a second time.
English

@gregmcantwell @TheCinesthetic I’m sure there’s a decent movie there, but I couldn’t understand a word that was said. The first time a movie had actual noticeable audio mixing issues (very casual movie critic btw)
English

@MotherworldKid @VK_HM @throwawall Erasing what someone has done because their name is now mud associates producing things that last with people whose names aren't mud.
English

Joss Whedon has become such a byword for hacky writing and at the same time the idea of it is increasingly divorced from his very noticeable authorial voice. “They fly now” and “Well that happened” are often cited, lines by Chris Terrio and David Mamet respectively
ABNDESIGNS@abndesigns
Not to defend Whedon as a person or a writer, but this sounds nothing like him at all
English

@Rexicutor @Hybrid_Reaver @ChrisKolaYT @MRIXRT It seems you can't imagine any way these features could be integrated otherwise, had Steam had much more open APIs that could be used ecosystem agnostically.
English

@RockLoi @Hybrid_Reaver @ChrisKolaYT @MRIXRT How is it better? I don't think Steam as a standalone aggregate launcher would be that great, 99% of that utility is explicitly because of the integrations of Storefront/Community/Personal. Even stuff like GOG's standalone installers need integration from Galaxy for cloud saves
English

@Rexicutor @Hybrid_Reaver @ChrisKolaYT @MRIXRT Again, that's a direct result of the status quo PC gaming lives in because of Valve. Decoupling the two is simply objectively better, but nobody seems willing to consider an alternative.
English

@RockLoi @Hybrid_Reaver @ChrisKolaYT @MRIXRT Even Playnite doesn't do stuff like aggregate achievements, you have to use plugins. No storefront/launcher combo does it all, Steam just does it best.
English

@Rexicutor @Hybrid_Reaver @ChrisKolaYT @MRIXRT Bundling launchers with point of sale is not a value-add, and depending on your age you may or may not remember the ruckus caused when Valve used HL2 to force it onto our systems. It's not like Valve release their games anywhere else, so it harms both ways.
English

@RockLoi @Hybrid_Reaver @ChrisKolaYT @MRIXRT Except all that Steam has done is a value-add. They don't "ruin" games for other platforms. Epic has exclusivity deals, Steam's only condition is price matching. I agree that things like SteamGridDB shouldn't have to fix stuff like non-steam media where Playnite natively does
English

@Hybrid_Reaver @Rexicutor @ChrisKolaYT @MRIXRT Not saying that people shouldn't use Steam, I'm saying Valve have created an environment where it's unreasonable to use anything but Steam.
Where I buy products shouldn't affect how I use it; it's the console affect on PC - which people criticise in every situation but this one.
English

@Rexicutor @RockLoi @ChrisKolaYT @MRIXRT I suggest don't waste yer breath on him he is essentially saying
"WHY ARE YOU BUYING THE FRESH FRUIT IN FRONT OF THE TRAY?! WHY WON'T YOU BUY THE ROTTEN FRUITS IN THE BACK?? DON'T YOU WANT TO SUPPORT A DIVERSE FREE MARKET?!"
English

@Rexicutor @Hybrid_Reaver @ChrisKolaYT @MRIXRT They are second-class citizens on Steam, anyone who wants to aggregate libraries and keep features like achievements uses an independent launcher e.g. Playnite.
If it was that viable we wouldn't be talking under someone who won't even accept a free game because of its launcher.
English

@RockLoi @Hybrid_Reaver @ChrisKolaYT @MRIXRT You literally can use Steam as a game launcher with a most features included. Steam overlay on non steam games still works perfectly, grecording, steam input, etc. The only stuff you can't do is things like Workshop, which makes sense given it's a tight balance of file management
English

@ArgusHyperion @plugpearson @elbric80 @Turdplumz @VillaTilliDye @sammyfartho @nathphilk @sayersy72 Lol you love being right and lash out when you're not.
Sorry for actually caring about this, given that in my teaching career have actually taught English grammar and spelling to adults. Fuck me for believing the words you wrote on the page eh?
