@RocketBoy1966 Don’t lie. I was sacked from Cabinet for opposing such policies. Why does your type always resort to deceit.

Another great crowd turnout today at our public meeting in West Auckland.
Very positive feedback and reaction to our policy announcements to make KiwiSaver enrolment compulsory at birth with a $1000 Crown contribution, and to buy back the BNZ bank and merge with Kiwibank to create some real competition from a state owned bank.
On to Whangārei next week…

@matt_horncastle It was 'moon landings' (not landing), there were 6 landings over a 3 year period, with a total of 12 men walking on the moon. If you have doubts watch this...

@RandomKiwiNZ @cjsbishop If you do your calculation properly and take off the 70c road user tax and the GST on that, the price of petrol in your calculation drops to $1.70. We pay a tax on a tax with our current petrol price.
English

Road user charges is going to cost more. Here is an example: Toyota Corolla 2.0L. RUC rate = $76/1000km
Current petrol price $2.50L
New petrol price $1.80L
Would need approx 60L for 1000km
60 x $2.50 = $150
60 x $1.80 = $108 + $76 = $184
Going to cost $34 more

@TheCountry What happened? The wool price spike caused by the US involvement in the Korean war caused an economic boom in NZ.

@DJSnM Oh my God, all those fridge magnets. One fridge magnet is one too many.
English
@theyvonnesayers There is something like 10 (or maybe as many as 30) fueling flights required to get one Starship to Mars, not the 1 additional flight as shown in this video. It's a similar story for a flight to the moon. It's way more complicated than shown in this video.
English
@pixlflip That's not really a fair comparison, the spacex suit is missing the whole life support back pack and is shown in 'deflated' mode, from the recent space walk, in a vacuum, it looks more like a balloon suit with a human in it.
English
@Erdayastronaut It looks like Skylab 2, the first crewed mission to Skylab, did at least 1 EVA, maybe more, as part of their initial repairs to allow them to dock and to attempt to repair the stuck solar panel, directly from their Apollo command module.
English

I can't wait for this mission! This will be one of the most incredible missions of my lifetime! Correct me if I'm wrong... this will be the first time a spacecraft has been completely evacuated of all air and had a spacewalk directly from it since the Apollo program, right?!

@actparty What a laughably bad summary of human history. Life expectancy didn't trend up until the late 1800's & didn't double until the mid to late 1900's (200 years after the enlightenment) & it's due to advances in medicine that were made widely & freely available & safe clean water.
English

"For one hundred thousand years people lived in tribal societies where people knew their place and filled a role depending on their birth. Then, the enlightenment happened.
"It was a revolution in thinking: The simple idea that each of us is a thinking and valuing being with equal dignity, deserving an equal choice to make the most of their time on earth.
"It brought about democracy, the rule of law, business, free markets, global trade, and emancipation of oppressed peoples everywhere. And what did it mean for real people? It doubled human life expectancy from around 40 to around 80. The average person literally gets a whole extra life since the enlightenment, and it’s never happened ever before."

@DJSnM Isn't the answer to 'how does a wing generates lift?'; that it generates lift in a number of different ways depending on what it is doing. If the wing has a high angle of attack (take off & landing) then it's mostly Newton, when it's in level flight it's mostly pressure diff.

@Erdayastronaut @joerogan @JRE_Clips Finally, it grates me that Joe Rogan calls the Moon a planet, how dumb are these people?
English

Hey @joerogan / @JRE_Clips, I’d love to come on the show and explain point by point absolutely everything you talked about with Bart Sibrel. There’s actually very simple and fun facts behind so many of his quandaries that can be good learning moments for physics and science. I’m going through the entire conversation, minute by minute, point by point and will have a full breakdown of everything talked about shortly. If the conversation is engaging and fun, then let’s bring Bart back on and maybe bring on others like @elonmusk or @DJSnM and let’s “debate” if he wants to. @JamieVernon

English
@Erdayastronaut @joerogan @JRE_Clips Plus there is the Apollo era laser reflectors on the moon, how did that get there? And a number of recent Moon orbiters have taken good photos of the Apollo landing sites, are they also all faked?
English
@Erdayastronaut @joerogan @JRE_Clips Also, if I was debating him, I'd ask what was fake and what was real? 1M people saw a massive rocket take off, that must have been real. The TV images from the Moon, the Russians would have monitored so how was that faked and the 380kg of moon rocks, where did they come from?
English
@Erdayastronaut @joerogan @JRE_Clips I've listened to as much of this as I can take and basically it boils down to 'the CIA killed JFK' which they lied about and therefore they also faked the moon landings and lied about it. It's hard to listen to this nonsense.
English
@nz_media_watch @chicketyclick @sabouleux This has to be one of the dumbest things I have ever read on Twitter and there is a lot of competition. Please just stop.
English
@winstonpeters You really are pathetic, it's their song, you need their permission to play it in public, which they won't give you because of your (according to the band) "divisive, small-minded, bigoted policies". Can we please have a new deputy PM, someone who isn't truly terrible.
English

It seems the media care more about the Chumbawamba story than we do. We actually don’t care.
There’s nothing to ‘cease or desist’.
The song worked like a charm for our first public meeting after the election. The over 700 people in the crowd thought so too.
We will be sure to file the ‘cease and desist’ letter in a safe place if it ever arrives.
I would use another of their hit song titles as a quip at the end of this post but unfortunately they only had one.
English
@nz_media_watch Yay, a self appointed, anonymous group (NZ Media Watch) with no qualifications to comment on the media other than they don't like the reporting of a 'Let Woman Speak' event criticize a Professor of Law who finds issue with the use of urgency. Twitter is great.
English
@aniobrien @actparty What ACT are trying to do with their Treaty Principles Bill is water down what the original Treaty actually says to make it effectively worthless. They also want to remove the importance of the Treaty as an agreement between two parties, Maori and the crown.
