Retired Canuck. Science is fact. Religion is fiction. Life isn't a popularity contest. I block idiots, including anyone that calls anyone else a "retard".

@JulianKlymochko More likely his disastrously poor judgement in failing to ensure some sort of french language version of his condolence message resulted in his losing the confidence of the board. He was 'invited' to retire. Gets a great big pay-out. Quitting would have been less attractive.

Men think this is an improvement. MacKenzie Scott, Princeton graduate, writing novels at age six, studied under Toni Morrison, founded Amazon, and one of the biggest philanthropists in the history of humanity. Versus.. whatever the fuck this is.

Watch this pompous, arrogant judge with his elitist attitude berate an IT worker who was trying to help him. Harris County, Texas Judge Nathan J. Million of the 215th Civil Court is facing criticism online after this video circulating on social media shows what a pr*ck he is.

@mrmikeMTL Several nodes, but one of them undoubtedly is the SCOTUS decision in Citizens United. Guaranteed an end to anything approaching a true democracy because dark money could now determine who runs for office and has the most campaign funding, and what legislation gets passed.

@KimDotcom Because U.S. domestic and foreign policy is now determined by one thing; money. It's a very long tradition but the Rubicon was crossed when SCOTUS decided Citizens United and firmly established that dark money and lack of election finance law guarantee that money runs America.

Very few support Israel. Very few support Trump. Even less support the Iran war. The whole world is against it. Markets are crumbling. Fertilizer prices go up. Fuel prices go up. Remind me again. Why is this happening?

@realstewpeters I don't think the U.S. spends much of anything on military "defense". They spend it on military "offense". The U.S. has only had to defend its territory once, at Pearl Harbor. The rest of the time the U.S. has been after someone else's oil and/or the overthrow of foreign gov'ts.

The United States spends more on military defense than the next 9 nations combined. It has more aircraft carriers than the next 10 countries put together.. and it hasn't won a land war on someone else's soil since 1945.. Let that sink in.

This woman spent 10 years reading every holy book. The Bible, Quran, Torah, Vedas. Same verdict: they all oppress women. They all push racism. They all lock in class. These aren't ‘spiritual’ books, they're political books. Control bodies, bloodlines, power. Read them yourself. The truth's right there in the text. So when you see these Conservatives Politicians like Jamil Jivani pull these kind of stunts, remember what they stand for.

@ianrich15813274 I suspect there are hundreds of people both foreign and domestic who know the truth about Trump. If it hasn't gotten out by now I doubt that it ever will. Trump has been a criminal for over 6 decades and he's never been 'outed' yet. There's much more to this than meets the eye.

@MarvinTBaumann My bet is that such an animal would be impossible to effectively, efficiently, govern. The larger and more dispersed, and diverse, the population, the more difficult it becomes to find commonalities/consensus. We have this problem in Canada a good deal of the time.

I had a loved one in my family choose MAiD when he was in the last months of painful bladder cancer. I see a lot of people on this platform calling it immoral. The only immoral thing I see is making people suffer when they choose to die on their own terms with dignity.

@Euan_MacDonald To do that, the U.S. would need to re-build its manufacturing sector which it outsourced to S.E. Asia for cheap labor. Then it would need to build export markets, but it lost all of them to tariffs and threats. The U.S. will have a very hard time re-building itself after Trump.

With the loss of access to NATO bases around the world, the US would lose its ability to project its power worldwide, and decline from being a global superpower to a hemispheric power. That's where Trump seems to want to take the US - a power on a par with Russia and China.
Department of State@StateDept

PRESIDENT TRUMP: NATO wasn’t there for us. We send billions of dollars to them every year to protect them. We would have always been there for them. But based on their actions, I guess we don’t have to be, do we? Why would we be there for them if they’re not there for us?

@UkrReview It's already a 'pay to play' system. The 5% of every member's GDP that Trump is always on about is billions of dollars and virtually ALL of it is spent in the U.S. buying U.S. manufactured weaponry. If NATO evaporates, the defence industry gets decimated.

🇺🇸❗️Trump is considering a major change to how NATO works, proposing a “pay-to-play” system where countries that don’t spend 5% of their GDP on defence could lose their say in key decisions, - The Telegraph 🇩🇪 Trump is considering withdrawing US troops from Germany.
