Tom Mulcair let it slip tonight on CTV that Katy Merrifield was fired. Either that or he has bad information but I doubt it. Such a bizarre decision- she’s really talented

Trust is not built with glossy reports and bureaucracy. It is built with action, accountability, and results. Indigenous Canadians deserve a government that follows through, not more rhetoric.

@GinnyRothTO TBF a Conservative leader has to walk a fine line to keep both the chem trail/flat earthers AND the Bay St bankers happy under 1 tent. I think Pierre did a better job than Scheer or O’Toole at doing so but at some point the normies get fed up being lumped in w the lunatics.

This isn’t to say that the health of the party depends on one person. My concern is that the post merger CPC requires a leader who understands and can speak for western Canadians, fiscal conservatives, social conservatives and increasingly, young working people. Those wanting a leadership change seem to want to pursue a strategy that would surely alienate these types of party members and conservative voters. And I think that would ultimately lead to the fracturing of the party.

I genuinely believe that a Poilievre departure would very likely result in the party splitting.

You have got the pulse of the issue entirely Ginny. The Western base of the CPC is incredibly jaded with the party after several soft campaigns and the feeling that we are not heard, though we are the consistent base of the party. To remove Pierre and replace him with a "centrist" will simply end the party.

@Jmacwillkillyou @TondaMacC @RyanTumilty @aballinga @TorontoStar WHY? it is NOT how our system was designed. It is supposed to be a bottom ups system. y guess is you have NO education about the history of Canada and how our electoral system works. If you do not like it, work to change the rules!
