@Wendi_Irlbeck Those that talk against what you’re saying are the problem. Their kids will be the drains on society. Keep it up.

I get flack a lot for "being too tough on kids and parents in my posts". It is wild we live in a society where encouraging kids to 'put down the phone, pick up breakfast and go to bed early' is being "too tough" on kids. Here's a reality check for some. Your kids need discipline, guidance, wisdom, structure, and without it they won't be successful adults. I even had someone go so far to message me asking, 'who hurt you'? -Read my Devotions with Wendi book once it is published and you will find out that no one hurt me but my dad who was a single father HELPED ME and my siblings by creating a routine of work, discipline, and responsibility. Parents and guardians have a responsibility to teach their kids that they have to work for things, show up on time, work as a team/family, and to take ownership of themselves with healthy habits because it is about RESPECT. Respect your body enough to not treat it like a waste receptacle and to nourish it with good fuel, rest, and kindness. Respect yourself enough to work hard become something by working hard academically and athletically will build grit and that grit is what you will need to survive in a tough world. Not every kid will have the option to go to college or to receive help. For many kids if they don't earn their scholarship they won't be going to college. So yes, your kid needs breakfast and every single fighting chance each day to secure that opportunity. Many athletes have told me it isn't even about the sport but their career and future as husbands. -These kids are on the right path. Teaching our kids good habits should not be controversial. In a world full of participation trophies, junk food, vaping, excessive social media use, video games, substance abuse, alcohol, complacency, and more LET'S HELP OUR KIDS BE HEALTHY AND SUCCESSFUL!

@LenMacPT @Hewett1Tim How much of this varies upon the PF completing the rehab? @darmasports does a lot of quad tendons but we don’t see the lack of strengthening unless the person came in weaker than normal expectations. Our objective testing and rehab followed by a required bridge program works.

If quad autografts are becoming the new desired graft choice, are we prepared to delay return to sports? Seems like it’s difficult to get the quads back to full strength compared to HS or PTG. Ready for a 15 month RTS…or as @Hewett1Tim has mentioned a 24 month return? ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P…

Wise people ask themselves three questions:    1) What outcome do I want?  2) What work do I need to do to achieve the outcome? 3) What events and situations will I need to navigate along the way? The O you get is determined by the R you choose.

5mo progress for a 15YO… • 17.9MPH➡️19.4MPH • JV➡️starting varsity However, b/c he’s not 23MPH or 4.4s 40… tagging him would hurt his recruitment as a skill player. Frustrating reality for kids who want to showcase hard work but can’t until they hit the “gold standard”.

Change your habits…change your path 1. Breakfast everyday- start getting calories in early 2. Prioritize sleep 3. Hydrate as soon as you wake up and carry h2o everywhere you go. These basics are low hanging fruit for athletes but have the power to create change

Many may not want to hear this but it’s 💯 % the athlete’s responsibility to ensure they are fueling, hydrating, and sleeping properly heading into game day. No one can force anyone to do anything. We are each responsible for controlling our controllables. There’s so many athletes given every resource and tool but often they don’t use those tools or apply them consistently. The lack of follow through in Nutrition, Recovery, Sleep and Hydration WILL eventually catch up with an athlete. Failing to fuel and take care of the body will eventually impair performance, Injury and illness risk, muscle and bone density, and overall training adjustments. If you’re a student-athlete wanting to compete at the next level in college or go pro you should leave absolutely nothing up to chance. Take care of your controllables!

It feels like you’ll never get your chance. It feels like the moment will never come. Train for it. Prepare for it. Treat every tiny opportunity like the biggest. You’ll either grow it from the ground, or it will feel like it popped out of nowhere. ⛏️🥷🏼 #poundthestone
