The Russian-flagged LNG tanker ARCTIC METAGAZ is ablaze about 150nm southeast of the Island of Malta in the Mediterranean Sea, according to preliminary reports and yet unconfirmed video footage. The vessel, which is sanctioned under U.S. and UK sanctions reportedly suffered an explosion before catching fire, leading analysts to speculate that the vessel may have fallen victim to a Ukrainian naval drone. If true, it would be the second such targeting of a sanctioned vessel by Ukraine in the Mediterranean.

According to CBS, citing 3 U.S. military officials with knowledge on the matter, the makeshift tactical operations center at Shuaiba port, where U.S. service members lost their lives in an Iranian drone strike, lacked adequate force protection measures and more were requested but never came. According to CBS’s sources, T-walls, shown below, were the only form of protection around the operations center. According to one source, while Kuwaiti batteries were in the vicinity, no U.S. counter-unmanned aircraft systems (C-UAS) or counter-rocket artillery and mortar (C-RAM) had been dedicated to the vicinity and its unclear if Kuwaiti batteries engaged the incoming threats.

Evacuations have been ordered throughout the Akrotiri Municipal District, and at Paphos Airport, by the Cypriot National Guard, after several Iranian one-way attack drones were shot down this morning approaching Cyprus in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Three Eurofighter Typhoons FGR.4s and an Airbus KC.2 Voyager are now up from RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus, possibly carrying out combat air patrols over the Eastern Mediterranean looking for additional drones launched by Iran.

This suggests to me that the drone which struck RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus a short while ago may not have been launched by Iran, but possibly by Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Hezbollah has joined the conflict against Israel. The Israel Defense Force announces that six rockets were launched by Hezbollah against Haifa in the last few minutes, in the latest barrage directed at Northern Israel.

- HMS Duncan: immediately available
- HMS Dauntless: just began maintenance period, can be reversed and sail within 72 hrs
- HMS Dragon: deep in maintenance period, may take weeks to return to sea
- Other 3 ships are in refit
