@GringoPapist The Possessed by Dostoevsky, and a collection of poems by Coleridge.

@UcheMaryOkoli Here's a quote from King Edward VII of England: "Now, We, Edward, by the grace of God, King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain ... have arrived at the following decisions upon the questions in dispute, which have been referred to Our arbitration, ..."
English

@UcheMaryOkoli English is a confusing language!
My suggestion was simply that the writers of Scripture might have been using the royal plural. Thus, when they have God speaking, He uses "we" and "us".
English

@UcheMaryOkoli "The royal we, also known as the majestic plural (Latin: pluralis majestatis) or royal plural, is the use of a plural pronoun (or corresponding plural-inflected verb forms) by one who is a monarch or high office holder to refer to oneself." - from Wikipedia
English

@UcheMaryOkoli There is a tradition of royalty using "we" instead of "I". Queen Victoria, for example, is often cited as saying things like, "We are not amused." So, the inspired writers of Scriptures using their understanding of how to refer to and quote God applied the same rule.

@PopCrave Someday people will look back at this and ask, "What were we thinking???"
English

@Victoria1439162 People make mistakes. What's more important is that they agree not to have sex with you until you are married.

@emilyjuniper_ Watch the language, please. Gratuitous swearing makes you look immature.

@ViaAnglicana @grok @ShaneSchaetzel Henry VIII
was named "Defender of the Faith."
He kept the title, but cast the Faith aside
when he wanted to make mistress Anne a short-term bride.

Let’s ask Grok…
@grok In the U.S., which Christian denomination is most in line with early Christianity and is widely available and easy to find in most places.
English

@ViaAnglicana @grok @ShaneSchaetzel They are break-away churches begun because a king wanted to divorce his wife and marry his mistress.

can we skip it this year and instead dedicate a month to Jesus? It would be much more beneficial.
