@UcheMaryOkoli Here's a quote from King Edward VII of England: "Now, We, Edward, by the grace of God, King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain ... have arrived at the following decisions upon the questions in dispute, which have been referred to Our arbitration, ..."

Please to the Catholics on the timeline, I have a question that has been on my mind. In the creation story, God said, "us." "Let us make man in our own image and likeness." Was God referring the "us" to the Trinity or the Heavenly angels?

@UcheMaryOkoli English is a confusing language! My suggestion was simply that the writers of Scripture might have been using the royal plural. Thus, when they have God speaking, He uses "we" and "us".

@UcheMaryOkoli "The royal we, also known as the majestic plural (Latin: pluralis majestatis) or royal plural, is the use of a plural pronoun (or corresponding plural-inflected verb forms) by one who is a monarch or high office holder to refer to oneself." - from Wikipedia

@UcheMaryOkoli There is a tradition of royalty using "we" instead of "I". Queen Victoria, for example, is often cited as saying things like, "We are not amused." So, the inspired writers of Scriptures using their understanding of how to refer to and quote God applied the same rule.

@Victoria1439162 People make mistakes. What's more important is that they agree not to have sex with you until you are married.

Why does being gay, bisexual, or transgender require an entire month-long celebration of those identities? Fucking ridiculous.

@inkandseerah My annual reading goals are 60 - 70. I'm up to 32 this year already. But I'm retired 2025 - 76 2024 - 72 2023 - 69 pre-retirement 2019 - 26 2018 - 35 2017 - 24 (I was a teacher, so I was also reading a lot of class-related works. And yes, I keep a record of books read!)
