#ALERT: There is a heavy police presence at the Cherry Creek State Park Swim Beach after multiple shots were fired around 3:30 p.m. Six people have been detained, and no injuries have been reported. Arapahoe County Sheriff's deputies are currently assisting Cherry Creek State Park Rangers in clearing out part of the swim beach so ACSO K9 units can search the area for evidence. There's no timeline yet on when the closed portion of the swim beach will reopen. @CPW_NE @CPWCCSP @COParksWildlife

#Update 7/13/26: The investigation into Sunday's shots-fired incident at Cherry Creek State Park remains active. Three adults were arrested, one adult was issued a criminal summons, and one juvenile was detained and later released pending further investigation. Charges included menacing and weapons-related offenses. With the assistance of ACSO K-9, Deputies recovered a firearm believed to be connected to the incident. No injuries were reported. Additional charges are possible as the investigation continues.
