URGENT: Call and Email Douglas County Commissioners and URGE them to "SAY NO to the Surveillance State!" On Tuesday, July 14th, the Commissioners will be considering a proposal for interconnected License Plate Readers (LPRs), drones and AI software to track and monitor everyone in the county! From Lloyd Guthrie: "According to DCSO documents, there are currently about 200 AXON LPRs installed in Sheriff vehicles. In addition, there are approximately 64 fixed FLOCK cameras throughout the county and Interstate 25. Data obtained from these devices is shared with other law enforcement agencies. DCSO has a recently updated policy regarding these technologies. "The ten-year contract is valued at $22,772,754 (about $2.6m per year). Details of the agreement are contained in the twelve-page quote from the AXON corporation. "Apparently, this project will replace the current 64 FLOCK cameras with 113 Axon Outpost LPR, for a net gain of 49 LPRs. "In summary, the DCSO proposal calls for the following components. "113 Axon Outpost intelligent license plate readers. "20 Skydio X10 Drones: “A highly advanced, AI-piloted aircraft designed to handle tough weather conditions. It is equipped with top-tier optical and thermal cameras.” "2 Skydio F10 Drones. and "AI-based Software" that will connect it all together!
