3 years ago today pubs were told to close by the govt. It was a very, very tough time, for many reasons, not just financial.But we are still open & that's all due to the amazing people who work & drink & eat here, I am very, very grateful to you all.Dawn x #pubs #campaignforpubs

@robedwards1955 @RogerProtzBeer It will bankrupt them if the cost rises 300% as I have seen quoted by fellow publicans! Some pubs & brewers can't even get quotes there is so little faith in our industry surviving! You can turn off lights, tweak here & there, but these costs are completely unsustainable

@RogerProtzBeer I know little about pub finances but am surprised that electricity is big enough to bankrupt them. The pub I am in has the lights on on a sunny afternoon. That does not look like they are struggling with bills

Discussion #skypapers on cataclysmic costs facing pubs recovering from covid. Along comes energy whammy with no price cap. Free houses can’t absorb costs like large chains - govt offering nothing. If they don’t step in pubs will close forever leaving people bereft.

I was honoured to have been invited to do the talk & tasting @RoseNorwich today in memory of Carl as part of @CityOfAle. A lovely group attended & the money raised could not be going to a better cause. Brilliantly hosted by Dawn in her wonderful Rose Inn, Queen St.
