The Tigris and Euphrates rivers in Iraq were on the verge of complete drying. However, during the past week, Iraq has experienced heavy rainfall in an extremely unusual amount. The water levels of the Tigris and Euphrates have started rising above their normal levels, to the point that the palm trees surrounding these rivers have become submerged up to half the height of their trunks. Climate change is beginning to take effect in the Middle East. What I mentioned above is not limited to Iraq alone, but is happening in several countries across the Middle East.

The people laughing at the photos don't even realize that right now the Moon is actually further away from Orion than it is from us standing here in Wisconsin. Space isn't a straight line. Since they launched on Wednesday, they’ve been climbing the hill away from Earth, but the Moon is currently on the opposite side of its orbit. @NASA didn't aim at where the Moon is now; they aimed at the spot where it’s going to be on Monday. In a way, it’s like a form of time travel. You are looking at a spot in the black void and flying toward it because you know that in three days, the Moon is going to show up right there to meet you. So yeah, of course, the Moon looks tiny in the shots today. Orion is about 130,000 miles from Earth right now, but it's over 260,000 miles away from the Moon. We are actually 20,000 miles closer to the Moon than the astronauts are at this very moment. It won't actually catch up to them until they hit the far side for that slingshot on Monday afternoon. People are so used to seeing zoomed-in telescope photos that they don't understand how empty space actually is when you're sitting in the middle of it. #ArtemisII #Moon #Orion
