Rubber tyre Rollers. Is anyone in the mallee using them on lentils etc? Do they do a good enough job for the header? We’ve only ever used steel but the tyre ones are a lot cheaper.
@cosfarming Our calibre is disgusting. It quit too early and all the sand is screenings. Looks like a 3t crop from the road but will be lucky to go 1t/ha!!
1910 owners. What are people doing when they need to rebuild meter units? Seems cheaper just to buy a complete new unit then to replace plastic meter housings and rollers. Is there after market suppliers in Aus?
@JakeLeguee This is a great read. This is one issue that we all believe we are struggling with alone, yet in actual fact, all farmers struggle with. The sense of guilt on both ends of the spectrum. At the end of the day, family must come first.
One of the things I struggle with in farming is finding a balance between work & family. I don't think I'm alone.
This might be the single most important thing in your life to get right - & one of the hardest.
How do you manage your work-life balance?

@RossStone41 2/2 I’m still in the process of putting together the 2023 outlook and haven’t gotten to high protein wheat just yet. Let me have a think and revert back next week. Shoot me a message if I forget. Email is dennis.voznesenski@rabobank.com
China buying is for now supporting Australian feed grain prices. They’re back because 1) small corn crop 2) UKR dependence 3) covid recovery. Have a great Australia day! #agchatoz#wheat#sorghum#barley#tradewar#food
This is our favourite photo from harvest 22/23! Anyone got any better?
We’ve had a few orders coming in so if you’d like to lock in a J&M for this coming season let us know. @JMManufacturing
@desertfarmer84 We are having the same issue in lupins with an 8230. Up to 8 smoulders for the season. Tried every bit of advice from chains to LED’s. We are now blowing it down every hour. It’s adding a lot of unwanted stress to the back end of harvest. It’s bloody witchcraft!
Looking for advice to help prevent fires when harvesting chickpeas with a JD 70 series harvester. Good hygiene (including engine & exhaust) & drag chain are having no effect. Chickpeas are bulky, diseased and create a huge amount of fine dust when harvested.
Hey @GrainCorp, how about lifting your moisture tolerance from 12.5% to 13.5% this year in cereals to help your clients out. Your losing a lot of tons to other sites and it’s costing producers a lot in timeliness. 😡
