I kid you not, a retired VERY well-known and trusted ATL meteorologist posted this on Facebook earlier before deleting it.

CS2 gaps CSGO based on the fact that demos don’t crash if you try to rewind. Everything else is just a bonus.

@Brady_Wx @SCweather_wx Not that its right/fair, but i think we have to start moving away from the general public angle and realize changes are being geared towards mets/enthusiasts NWS has always and continues to struggle with the public(diff problem). Ppl are shifting to local mets and Ryan Hall types

On one hand, I understand the need to communicate both certainty and intensity.. but I also see how this would be super confusing for the general public. At the end of the day, these SPC products are really meant for meteorologists, EMs, etc, not really the general public. Translating these SPC products in a way that makes sense to the general public will be the task of meteorologists & other weather communicators

Man.. Idk how i feel about this. This is gonna be a massive mouth full in videos during bigger events. Especially from someone like myself that gets very detailed. Great video if you aren’t up to date with the new SPC outlooks upcoming.
Convective Chronicles@ConvChronicles

LINK: youtube.com/watch?v=OmUndV… In-depth look at the upcoming changes to the Storm Prediction Center severe weather outlooks. I sit down with SPC meteorologists Evan Bentley and Chris Broyles to discuss these changes in detail, including why they were necessary, what the new Conditional Intensity Groups (CIG) represent for each severe hazard, and lots more. I also work through some examples of the new outlooks at the end.

@weathernerdga Not comparable but i remember watching the Helene tracking change in real time. Most of the Asheville damage should have hit my parents, until it veered towards Augusta. No answer to your question but it really is hard to come to terms with

Why is this forecast for North Georgia, especially the Atlanta Metro and points just south so difficult? Models are not very good at modeling CAD thus far out and underestimate it 9 out of 10 times. If CAD continues to be modeled as our source for surface cold (I believe it will), this forecast will be changing just before and even during the event. So unless this recon info ingested into the 00z models just changes the game, be ready to be patient.

Christmas continues to be the only holiday I get excited for in the year. The buildup of presents, the lights, decorations and music are all so fulfilling until 12/25! Every year i am overflowing with gratitude and wouldn’t trade it for anything. Reflecting on it one last time.

@WxZachary I think the shift to “weathertainment” will be the new thing. Not bad, the outreach of Ryan Hall and other chasers/streamers is undeniable. I believe this is where AI is huge for development However it will definitely be different than your typical weather channel/local news

From someone who has dedicated their entire life to weather, I’m hopeful humans will still desire human communication. Especially if significant weather is occurring where they live. AI has a place, especially if it can assist in saving lives. I’m afraid the traditional role of forecasting will look much different in the next 5 years. This could be mean far fewer meteorology jobs too.

Paying top dollar to hear a cover band 🤣🤣🤣🤣 sheeple
Eddie Trunk@EddieTrunk

Today @ForeignerMusic and @Skynyrd announced a co headline tour. Assuming Lou Gramm doesn’t do these dates, pretty sure this will be the first tour ever where neither headline band has any original members. Which supports my brand over band theory and how no band will ever have to end if people don’t care who is or isn’t in the lineup. Not being critical here, more an observation on where classic rock is today and its ability to be sold. I think fans should care about who is or isn’t in a band and what they are actually seeing and hearing, but from a business standpoint interesting times.

Here is a 150 frame satellite loop of Hurricane Melissa this morning approaching the coast of Jamaica. If you look in the eye you can clearly see several mesovorticies rotating around the inner eyewall. This is an exceptionally powerful hurricane. Praying for the folks in Jamaica.
