Always loved traveling to Vegas, but it’s lost its luster…there’s really no better place in the US to live, visit, play poker, or just sit back and enjoy the sunsets, than FLA… c'est la vie… #poker #rounderlife

@RounderFounder @Timcast I'm sorry. Your government is full of pedophiles that use your money to purchase babies that will suck their dicks without the use of teeth and they get to walk around freely. You seem to be okay with that.

Freezing assets and shutting a business down without conviction is vile. This reeks of process punishment
Lodge Card Club Austin@LodgePokerATX

We know our loyal staff, members, and followers have been anxiously waiting for an update regarding the recent events that led to the closure of the club. We recognize that the closure has had a serious impact for many. More than 200 staff members rely on The Lodge for their livelihoods, and many of our members have funds tied up in chips or pending tournament payouts. We understand the concern and frustration and we want everyone to know that it is not being taken lightly. As much as we would like to provide a detailed update, we are unable to do so at this time because, despite our legal team’s best efforts to obtain additional information from the authorities, very little information has been made available. What we do know is that no charges have been filed, and we remain committed to cooperating fully so that any concerns can be addressed. At the same time, we can confirm that all of the club’s assets and bank accounts have been frozen. In addition, we have been told not to re-open until the investigation concludes. The Lodge has always taken its obligation to operate lawfully very seriously. The leadership team is committed to ensuring that The Lodge operates transparently, responsibly, and in good faith within Texas law by emphasizing strengthened oversight and continued improvement of operations. Unfortunately, we do not know how long this process will take or when we will be allowed to operate again. We obviously believe that the longer our doors remain closed, the greater the impact becomes — not just on the business itself, but on the hundreds of staff members, vendors, partners, and community members who rely on The Lodge every day. Your continued support of The Lodge — its traditions, its staff, and the community that exists inside these walls — means the world to us. We are upset and frustrated by the disruption this has caused and remain hopeful that we will be able to work constructively and with the authorities in a very timely manner so that we can move forward and reopen our doors. All we can do at the moment is to promise to share more information as soon as we are able. In the meantime, if The Lodge has meant something to you — as a place to play, work, or build friendships — we encourage you to share your support in the comments. Hearing from this community means more to our staff and leadership team than we can put into words.

Why did you pretend Postle won like POTRIPPER, when you knew the data you were citing was bogus? Berkey admitted you and Galfond knew the numbers were BS, but you pretended the phony chart was proof anyway. I have to give you credit for the presentation. It’s as impressive as your taped delay play-by-play call in the Robbi hand, when you were already briefed on what went down ahead of time. I’m being serious. You have a talent at being deceptive on camera. You should have received the industry awards, not Joey. His faked takes were horrible.

@RounderFounder While we're talking about "gatekeepers" let’s talk about the Ebro days. How much did Postle pay you to crash on your couch while you were dealing his games?

@BartHanson Dealing “his games”? He paid nothing when he stayed with me. Then, when Ebro started the livestream (with no hole cards), I decided he should stay at a local hotel because I didn’t want even a hint of impropriety. What’s your point?

@ChadAHolloway @PokerNews Since Doug Polk was in charge at the Lodge, and the alleged money laundering and illegal gambling happened right under his nose, doesn’t that mean he’s incompetent or at the very least, liable? Just asking for a friend… @JFKPokerTD @StonesGambling

Here is ESPN sportscaster Scott Van Pelt praising poker “gatekeeper” Joey Ingram (@Joeingram1) on SportsCenter. Ingram received two industry awards for his investigative work. He has also earned an estimated six figures as a result of his reporting on POSTLEGATE and is regarded as the most respected voice in the poker industry when it comes to exposing cheaters and scammers. In addition to the Postle case, Ingram investigated the Robbi Jade Lew cheating scandal. He hosted a panel of guests who put her under the microscope and hurled scurrilous accusations against her, as the world gawked. Both Polk and Ingram continue to insinuate that Lew cheated. Ingram’s close friend, false accuser Doug Polk, is now embroiled in an investigation centered around his poker club, which was raided by the TABC and the IRS for alleged money laundering and illegal gambling. Where are poker’s “gatekeepers”? Why are they not investigating one of the biggest scandals in poker history? If they don’t scrutinize the scandal at the Lodge, what does that say about their previous investigations? Do they only care about scandals involving people they dislike? Are they protecting their friends. If they do look into it, will they tell the truth, or will they lie to sway public opinion as they did in the Postle case? Is there anyone left in poker to trust? #LodgeGate

Here’s poker “gatekeeper” Bart Hanson (@BartHanson) insisting to his audience that Mike Postle’s winrate was to the right of infamous online cheater POTRIPPER. While listening to Hanson, keep in mind that Matt Berkey revealed this past year (6 years after the fact), that he, Galfond, Polk, and Hanson were all aware that the data Hanson was citing was bogus, but they decided to “go with it” anyway. This means that someone also either lied to Scott Van Pelt (@notthefakeSVP) when they presented the bogus data “evidence” to him, or he (SVP) was aware and knowingly spread the lie to a national audience via @espn. “POSTLEGATE is the biggest scandal in poker history, but not for the reasons you were told.”

There are different groups that don’t have access to their money. The people that were playing when the raid occurred are one, and should probably have been allowed to cash out, but this is a tiny amount compared to what’s being held in the lock boxes. And who knows, maybe some of those live players are under investigation too, not to mention it would have taken extra manpower and time to process the cash-outs on scene. Many of the people who kept large amounts of cash in lock boxes at the Lodge, are likely under investigation too. They aren’t just going to hand it all back. It sucks for all the innocent people who just kept their bankrolls there for “safekeeping.”But instead of blaming the TABC and the IRS, maybe consider the incompetence or alleged criminal activity that led to the dilemma. Polk said he’ll make everyone whole. I expect that to happen any day now.

“Check 3 streets”? It looks to me like they’re betting every street. 1) Conduct raid 2) Clarify it’s about money laundering and illegal gambling 3) Freeze their bank accounts If this was a raid on a political opponent from the party in power, sure, I’d be more skeptical like you and Pool. But this doesn’t have a targeted, political feel to me. If they announce there was no wrongdoing and no arrests or charges are filed, I’ll be the first to admit I was duped by the posturing. And I’d call for heads to roll for wasting taxpayer money to go after the fine, upstanding owners at the Lodge. If people are charged and arrested, I guess you’ll agree this wasn’t a bluff.

@RounderFounder @Timcast I just find it funny that you're SURE they have the nuts when all info indicates the opposite. Is it possible they have the nuts? Sure, but they usually don’t when they check 3 streets. But you probably have your personal reasons for bias 🤷🏻‍♂️

@DJclicker77 @Timcast It’s not uncommon that charges aren’t filed right away when there’s an ongoing investigation, especially when it’s a financial crime where some of the evidence is digital. If you think it’s a joke I’m afraid you’re in for a rude awakening.

Money laundering could be something as straightforward as failing to file 31 CFR 1021.311 forms (currency transactions over $10,000), but I highly doubt they would conduct a raid without first giving the Lodge a warning or issuing a fine. If the money laundering charge pertains to unreported currency transactions, it involves multiple millions and was (allegedly) facilitated. Polk's “witch hunt” response and his silence since then make me think that whatever it is, he’s deeply involved. It doesn’t seem like a response someone would make if they were unaware of the alleged malfeasance occurring at their business. Allowing customers to place bets on the outcomes of your livestream could easily be viewed as illegal gambling. Accepting satellite entries from an unregulated online poker site that keeps changing its “sweepstakes” terminology to stay one step ahead of the law could also be considered illegal in Texas, especially for a club that relies on a loophole where customers pay for “time” instead of rake. The Lodge just keeps the entry fee? There’s a lot of mental gymnastics by people in the poker community to believe that ClubWPT Gold is legitimate. Texas needs regulated gambling, including poker. What you’re seeing is what happens when you have a system in place where someone like Nick Airball, or even Polk, can be an owner. No vetting, no background checks just pay to play. The chances of either being approved by a legit gambling authority that conducts thorough background checks, is zero point zero. Have you ever heard of coinflex?

Yes, process punishment is a government tactic, but it’s a stretch and naive to believe that’s what’s happening here. Twenty agents, including those from the IRS, raided the Lodge, gathered more evidence, (including computers and servers by some reports), and froze their bank accounts. And your first instinct is to side with the Lodge? Do you actually think this is a government overreach witch hunt targeting the poker industry? There’s no way they would take these steps without having “the nuts” in my opinion. I predict arrests will be made and that the state will present conclusive evidence of multiple crimes, likely supported by inside informants and undercover testimony. No one likes to see employees lose their jobs, but people blanketly defending the Lodge (Polk, owners) and lashing out at the authorities at this point is akin to being angry at the police for pulling over a suspected drunk bus driver on the way to pick up your kids. It’s too early to tell which owners knew what and when, or who may have partaken, but if you think there’s no there there, you’re drawing dead in poker.

If that’s the case, it doesn’t excuse him—and that’s according to Doug Polk himself, who did everything in his power to smear @StonesGambling and Justin Kuraitis, including presenting the same bogus data claims that Plaintiffs used in their lawsuit regarding the alleged cheating there (which was never proven btw). The consensus among the “poker community” and gatekeepers like yourself was that Stones and Kuraitis were either “guilty or incompetent” and therefore “liable.” Where is Joey Ingram (@Joeingram1)? Why isn’t he on this? Where’s his panel of “experts” turning over every rock, destroying the accused and his private life, like they did to Robbi? If this happened at Hustler or one of Polk’s competitors how would Polk (and Ingram) be handling it? This is one of the biggest scandals in poker! Polk is running the show at the Lodge. If the government finds that money laundering and illegal gambling took place at his establishment, it’s on him, regardless of whether or not he participated. How many millions has ClubWPT Gold paid Polk or sent to the Lodge from satellites? How does that align with the “membership” loophole? What about tournaments? How reckless was management in allowing patrons to wager on the outcomes of their livestreams? Did Polk green-light that? Hundreds of his clients now have millions stuck in lock boxes. Did believing he could operate with impunity lead to this? Do we just excuse the incompetence and change the rules because it’s Doug Polk, and the “poker community” approves? The harsh reality is that Polk and Ingram never really cared about “protecting” poker. They care about clicks, and protecting their own interests and the interests of their friends.
