Doing some computer vision work, asked a basic question and Claude created an interactive chart to help me dynamically understand camera skew vs equation definition (3D -> 2D non homogenous representation) and I didn’t even ask it to. We’re truly living in the future.

@jacklambert__ Thanks. Would be interesting to see if aggregate POI is actually reflective of this being a good def’n of a 2D strike zone. Feel like this as a basis might be even more confusing to umpires.

If you take the ball trajectory you can see when it is in Perdomo's rulebook strike zone (colored in red: roughly when it's 11 to 3 feet from it mattering). Also, strike zone (by ABS standards) is measured as a 2D plane at the middle of the plate, as visualized here.

@jacklambert__ @RobertStock6 Maybe I’m just not smart But looking at this - is the ball not at Knee level when it gets to the front of the plate? What am I not seeing

Saying “it was too close to take” to pin blame on a 9 hitter who worked to a full count from behind against the games best closer and turned the lineup over (literally his job) is bad ball

A genuine question to the betting crowd: if you’re a risk neutral, sheer +EV, Kelly optimized bettor what is the reason to trade on sportsbooks anymore (other than player props)?

The Nationals and Driveline in the same sentence. Nats fans should be absolutely thrilled with the hires in the front office, and especially the coaching staff. What a great start to the offseason for the fans who wanted a new direction, wow!
Andrew Golden@andrewcgolden

Some Nationals coaching news: Washington is planning to hire Andrew Aydt as its assistant hitting coach, per sources. Aydt serves as the assistant director of hitting for Driveline Baseball.

Sources tell @YahooSports that the Nationals are hiring Andrew Aydt to be an assistant hitting coach on the MLB staff. Aydt, in his late 20s, is the co-manager of Driveline’s hitting dept. Played D2 ball at McKendree University from 2017-2019. Nats youth movement continues.
