You’re born onto a planet you never asked to exist on… and society immediately hits you with: “Okay, now go earn the right to eat, sleep, rest, and have shelter.” Like… zoom out for a second. We’re floating on a rock in infinite space and we created a game where you have to spend most of your life working just to not starve or freeze to death. The whole concept is actually insane when you think about it.

Some reasons why cooking is overwhelming for many:
-To cook each cuisine requires different base set of spices, staples, etc
-Popular recipes often include obscure, expensive ingredients
-Purchasing exact item amts often not possible
-Utilizing rest of perishable food challenging

You can't tax rich people on unrealized gains from stocks because "it's not real money until it's sold."
So explain to me why my property taxes keep going up based on the unrealized value of my house?
I didn't sell it.
I didn't cash out.
I didn't make a profit.
But somehow I'm paying taxes on paper gains every single year.
Interesting how "unrealized gains" only become a problem when wealthy folks are involved.

I’m in favor of raising teacher pay. But I’m unclear how this will “fix” education: is it that teachers are not working hard but will for a raise? Or that higher salaries will lure capable people from law, medicine, tech, etc.?

I have great sympathy for the argument that things cost more these days. I have zero sympathy for the grown adult who thinks they’re too good to eat a sandwich or throw something in a crockpot.

I think comparing top surgery to breast removal due to breast cancer is what's insensitive
If you have a leg amputated because of cancer, that's healing you. If you remove your leg when there's no problem with it, you have mutilated yourself
