One of the Media’s greatest (many) sins is how they’ve treated Melania. Ignoring her beauty and grace while saying terrible and nasty things to her. They were handed a perfect FLOTUS and instead of embracing her they treated her horribly. It just shows how awful they are.

So I actually gave this question from Rod (who I consider a friend tbc!) some thought. Why did Trump react so strongly to O'Donnell. And I think I can shed some light. Trump is clearly a tough type. He doesn't use assassination attempts to milk sympathy as you might expect from political figures who are not as tough and do this routinely. He instinctively (and I think rightly) feels that cashing in on such sympathy to score political points would be effeminate. That toughness though makes it easy to forget that the guy is human. He survived one VERY close call with a bullet. And has now survived two others that weren't quite as close. But it's going to shake anyone, no matter how to tough they are to recognize that there is a very large political movement that wants you dead. And those people, as we just saw, are never going to stop trying. And even in this moment, @NorahODonnell couldn't show a bit of human decency toward him. She took the leftist talking points the killer spewed in his manifesto, which are absolutely false, and asked him to defend himself against them. That's as vile as it gets. These people really do not see Trump as a person deserving of any fellow feeling. Does the expectation from him that he play nicely with the people who tried to take everything from him with political prosecutions sometimes bit him in the polls? Yes. He seems constitutionally incapable of faking it in the way we usually see from the Beltway class. But I think in some ways this is admirable. He won't respond with social niceties he doesn't feel to earn respectability points. Even though I often wish he would. Anyway, that's my take. The guy is a real person and the left is constantly calling for his death and trying to kill him. And when you're a tough guy and aren't going to feel sorry for yourself or try to make others feel sorry for you, you respond with just anger. O'Donnell could have chosen to be a decent person and ask the President how he feels knowing that he's once again survived being the target of a crazed would-be murderer. Instead, she asked him to defend himself against his would-be murderer's lies.

@ginamilan_ @HollyCabot I was just thinking this on the way home from work. Not one of the old school late show hosts would’ve dreamed of crossing the line of normalizing assassination attempts. If ABC doesn’t fire Kimmel, independent affiliates should find a permanent replacement in their lineups.

Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His monologue about my family isn’t comedy- his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America. People like Kimmel shouldn’t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate. A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him. Enough is enough.  It is time for ABC to take a stand.  How many times will ABC’s leadership enable Kimmel’s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community.

Hey Tim, if you oppose political violence why were you happy to share a stage with Hasan Piker, a man who called for "capitalist blood to run in the street"? And said of assassinating Trump, "Someone's gotta do it"? And said of Rick Scott, "If Republicans truly cared about Medicare fraud, they would kill Rick Scott"? And suggested Americans shouldn't have sympathy for murder victim Brian Thompson because "Brian Thompson, as the UnitedHealthcare CEO, was engaging in a tremendous amount of social murder"? And why, when your colleagues said he is an unacceptable coalition partner, did you argue FOR keeping him in your "tent," describing him as just like Joe Rogan, a "guy with some bad opinions"? Why did you excuse this violent language of his by saying it's just because he "talks for eight hours a day"? Why did you flippantly dismiss this rhetoric as "impure thoughts"? Why did you suggest that these comments are less offensive than "what you hear from MAGA"? That doesn't comport with someone who really opposes political violence.

Paramount. Fix this.

Jimmy Kimmel should be fired tomorrow morning at 7am by ABC. He should be told to leave the buidling and be escorted out by security. The American people are sick of his hate. Enough is enough.

The NYT and President Obama are pretending the WHCD gunman didn't leave a manifesto because the manifesto is indistinguishable from how they talk about Trump. Political violence is not equally distributed. The bullets are only flying in one direction, and it's Left to Right.
