more people in tech should be politically active. the biggest problems society faces aren't saas problems, they're political ones. politics is slow, bureaucratic, and allergic to change. tech doesnt play by these rules e.g wildfires in california, if CAL FIRE used drone swarms, they could detect & contain fires faster than any budget bump. the tech exists - we just don’t build it. yes, i know im a hypocrite - I spent this summer building a generic saas app. but the average person benefits way more from political problems being solved than another saas app. we don't need political permission to solve these issues, all it requires is more people in tech to give a shit about politics.
