BREAKING: Iran has responded to the US' list of "conditions" to reach a peace deal to end the war. Iran's conditions include: 1. Ending the war on all fronts across the Middle East 2. Lifting of US sanctions on Iran 3. Releasing of all Iranian frozen funds 4. Compensation for war damages 5. Recognition of Iran’s sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz The US explicitly lists two of Iran's five conditions as NOT occurring in their "pre-conditions" for a deal.

Iran is a failed state barely held together by repression, fear, and a collapsing economy. What’s left of the leadership are meeting under bridges because of fear of Israeli operations. The rial is worthless. Prices are doubling ever two weeks. No one is selling dollars. The bazaar is again stirring. The Artesh and even parts of the IRGC are experiencing the same severe economic strain. What matters now is sustained pressure: economic warfare, maritime blockade, air blockade, and strategic patience. The regime can suppress ideological protests more easily than nationwide revolts based on economic suffering. Need a return to major kinetic operations focused on energy infrastructure before continuing any negotiations.

@vrexec Plus, usually salaries are higher in the US than in Europe. You only discuss the the expense side in your post. Plus, there is more upward mobility in the US in terms of carrier. You don't have the luxury of a car. Cars are difficult in the EU. Plus living spaces are smaller

Health+dental insurance for a family of 4 in the NL costs ~€350/month with a ~€300/year deductible which the Dutch call “eigen risico” or “own risk” We rent a 4 bedroom ground floor apartment with a huge back garden in arguably the most desirable part of the city… and pay less than our mortgage in New Jersey in 2020 when we had a 3% interest rate. We don’t own cars. Transportation is super cheap relatively.. I estimate 10-20% cheaper because we bike, walk, tram, train.. rent a car when needed for short trips. Kids go to a school that costs €0/year that costs $40,000/year in New Jersey.

@vrexec Some points you make are good. But, at $40k per year your kids will get a much better education than in a refugee filled Dutch school. You can also send your kids to public school in the US. Also, you are comparing a flat to a house, rent vs own. Plus NJ is shithole.
