@TheRealHos305 Ditto. Class act. Imagine making a mistake at work and then showing up like this. Nothing but respect.

Orion Kerkering with one of the most upfront, self aware & honest postgame interviews I’ve ever seen… He’s clearly doing everything he can to hold back tears the entire time. I feel gutted for him. Just an all-time panic moment. Absolutely gutting.

Just like the start of the NLDS last year, the Phillies bullpen could not hold onto a lead And the Phillies were 1-7 with runners in scoring position and struck out 12 times. Just five hits and left 6 on base.

Just finished a 94-hour water-only fast this morning (+black coffee, unsweetened tea, & unsweetened electrolyte salt). I usually go 90 hours, but timed this one so that I would have another morning of black coffee and then bone broth coming out. The benefits are immeasurable at the cellular level and you feel amazing after.

Fasting for 72 hours is the best medicine on Earth. It triggers your body to "eat up" tumors, inflammation, and toxins. It's literally a doctor within. Here's how to fast correctly (according to science): 🧵

@CarliLloyd This should be framed and sent to all parents of youth sports. So well said.

Insanity. The kids don’t even look forward to playing games with that many during the week. There is also no time to play pick up, or individually train and get reps. There is no break to play other sports and allow your body to use other muscles. It is so flawed.
Patrick@PhillyPMC

@CarliLloyd Just pulled my son out of a competitive club soccer team. He’s 11. Practice starts July. Season doesn’t end until May. 4 games on average every single weekend, plus 3 practices a week and individual training. We were burnt out. I can’t imagine how he felt. It’s insane.

@karagoucher I love how you just went silent for about 30 seconds because I’m confident that was most of us. And then the yelling and perhaps some tears.

Continues to be my favorite podcast every week. This one hits the nail on the head around exercise and its importance: 1. Do it 2. Make it fun That’s it.
Derek Thompson@DKThomp

New pod: What evolutionary biology can teach us about diet and exercise open.spotify.com/episode/3SHxcw… Daniel Lieberman talks about "dysevolution"—his theory for how many modern problems (obesity, cancers, anxiety disorders) are caused by mismatches between our bodies and environment

I hate running. But I love competing in races, tris and swims… So I force myself to run a 5K every Sunday morning. Even in the rain. I push to finish under 27 minutes… Juuuuust made it today💪

Question: I’m at a baseball game and a fan has tried to start the wave at least 15 times without success. When is it appropriate to tap out and call it a night? Oh. And here he goes again … Nope. Still didn’t get it.

@stevemagness Hmm. I’ll give it a read but having experienced depression and is someone who is an active runner / athlete, motivation to get out the door went by the wayside while depressed. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to; I just couldn’t. Medicine helped.

Exercising 150 minutes per week for 4 months is equally as effective as taking an antidepressant for depression, review finds. Get outside and get moving. Start small and easy. For many, a walk is enough when you are starting.

I didn’t cross the 1k mark but that’s okay - I get a redo beginning tomorrow. Still, not a bad result after two injury-prone months of mostly not running.

Do I think the Xander deal ages well? Maybe not but in 10 years he’ll be playing 1B/DH, we’ll have a few titles in SD, a Seidler statue in the works, & in 2023 we have the best top-4 in the game. 1-P 2-Nola (Campy/Murphy?) 3-Jake 4-Kim 5-Manny 6-Xander 7-Soto 8-Grish 9-Tati DH-
