What We Know From the Search Warrants A black VANTRUE dash camera (serial number: VTN2P212969) equipped with both an outward-facing and an inward-facing lens was seized from the vehicle. Its removable microSD card captures video, audio, and GPS tracking logs around the time of the murder (Search Warrant No. 3215391). The dashcam's power cord was found disconnected and sitting on the front passenger seat inside the vehicle. Car wash surveillance footage confirmed that the dashcam was actively mounted on the windshield during his escape timeline (Search Warrant No. 3215391). The Dodge Challenger's factory-installed Infotainment and Telematic system contains historical GPS data, tracking logs, and routes that document exactly where the vehicle traveled and idled before and after the homicide (Search Warrant No. 3214771). The vehicle's internal telematic system logs automated physical electronic events, capturing the exact moments vehicle doors were opened or closed, gears were changed, brakes were applied, and headlights were operated during his timeline near the campus (Search Warrant No. 3214771). The vehicle's telematic memory retains data synced from Robinson's mobile device via Bluetooth or USB connection, importing telephone numbers, contact lists, call logs, and text messages that provide clear user attribution to him (Search Warrant No. 3214771). A handwritten confession letter addressed to "Luna" (Robinson's boyfriend, Lance Twiggs) was found under a keyboard in his apartment, stating: "I left the house this morning on a mission... Tyler verbally confessed to his father that he was the shooter at Utah Valley University, prompting his parents to contact law enforcement to safely coordinate his surrender (Search Warrant No. 3213621). Tyler explicitly stated in text messages to his boyfriend that he had been actively planning the assassination for "a bit over a week" (Search Warrant No. 3214751). A scoped Mauser Model 98 .30-06 caliber bolt-action rifle wrapped in a dark towel was recovered along his immediate flight path, matching text messages where Tyler worried what his father would do if he didn't bring back "grandpas rifle" (Search Warrant No. 3213481). A search of his residence uncovered two boxes of Remington .30-06 cartridges and a plastic bag containing five more .30-06 cartridges, including one explicitly hand-etched with the words "test shot" (Search Warrant No. 3213481). Crime scene technicians successfully recovered touch DNA, fingerprints, and a smeared palm print directly from the northeast corner rooftop edge of the Losee Center where Robinson lowered himself to flee (Search Warrant No. 3214771). A distinct shoe impression consistent with the sole characteristics of a Converse/Chuck Taylor shoe was found on the rooftop edge, matching the exact style of shoes Robinson wore on campus and during his surrender (Search Warrant No. 3214771). Campus surveillance footage captured Robinson walking toward the building prior to the shooting with a stiff right leg and a highly visible bulge underneath his black shirt on the right side of his waistband area (Search Warrant No. 3214751). Google Maps data extracted from his phone revealed he initiated a route away from the campus at 12:46 PM (just 23 minutes after the murder) starting near a shopping center seven minutes from UVU and mapping to an Orem car wash (Search Warrant No. 3217031). Video footage from the Quick Quack Car Wash verified his co-owned 2013 Dodge Challenger arrived at the facility at 12:57 PM, perfectly matching his phone's mapped escape route (Search Warrant No. 3217031). A second Google Maps route was found on his device initiated at 01:33 AM on September 11, starting from a neighborhood immediately adjacent to where the rifle was hidden and mapping directly back to his primary residence on River Road in St. George (Search Warrant No. 3217031). SIAC tracking records showed Robinson's exact plate number (Utah T455CE) registering on an LPR camera in Cedar City, Utah, at 07:16 AM on September 11, tracking his flight south (Search Warrant No. 3215391). Subscriber billing records from Quantum Fiber confirmed he paid for high-speed internet service under the username "trobinsonut@gmail.com" at his St. George apartment during the exact timeframe he admitted to planning the assassination (Search Warrant No. 3216271). Tyler text-messaged his boyfriend about evading a police K9 unit near his drop point, and later panicked when a coworker sent him a text message containing a campus security still of himself, proving he knew feds were closing in (Search Warrant No. 3214751).
