उत्तराखंड – चंपावत पुलिस ने दावा किया है कि 16 वर्षीय लड़की से कथित गैंगरेप का मामला झूठा निकला है। SP रेखा यादव ने बताया– "पीड़िता ने कोर्ट में बयान दिए हैं कि उसके साथ कुछ गलत नहीं हुआ" मेडिकल जांच और इलेक्ट्रॉनिक साक्ष्य में गैंगरेप की पुष्टि नहीं हुई है। आरोपियों कि लोकेशन भी घटनास्थल पर नहीं मिली है। पीड़ित पक्ष ने गैंगरेप केस में BJP नेता सहित 3 लोगों पर FIR कराई थी। पुलिस अब यह जांच कर रही है कि जब लड़की से गैंगरेप नहीं हुआ तो किसके कहने पर यह सब आरोप लगाए गए।

Uttarakhand Police Headquarters (PHQ)-"A case has been registered at the Kotwali Champawat police station under the POCSO Act after a written complaint was filed yesterday, alleging that on the night of May 5, 2026, a 16-year-old minor was sexually assaulted by three individuals. Due to the sensitivity of the matter, the Superintendent of Police (SP) Champawat, Rekha Yadav, constituted a 10-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the supervision of the Circle Officer. The SP personally interacted with the victim and visited the crime scene to speak with local residents. The RFSL Udham Singh Nagar field unit conducted a forensic analysis of the site. The victim underwent a medical examination, counselling before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), and recorded a formal statement before the court. A Magistrate was appointed via the District Magistrate to oversee the victim’s care and safety. The medical report shows no signs of external or internal injuries nor any evidence of physical struggle or forced assault. Statements from certain witnesses do not align with the technical and circumstantial evidence collected so far. The technical evidence confirms that the named accused Vinod Singh Rawat, Naveen Singh Rawat, and Puran Singh Rawat were not present at the scene at the time of the alleged incident."
