If decency and civility were the crops that fed civilization and the crop estimate for such was estimated by scrolling Twitter for signs of “fruit of the spirit” I’m afraid most agronomists would conclude that our society is headed toward a famine.

@BCRobinsonGA Brian I’m just an ole South Georgia farmer but I must admit that it amazes me how one’s loyalties can be so easily bought within the political industrial complex. Forgive me but where I’m from we just run a little deeper than that.

Austin's Law is helping save lives in Georgia. I want to thank the Walters family for their courage to reach out and their dedication to honor Austin’s life. I am proud of Sen. Russ Goodman for sponsoring this priority legislation and thankful to the Georgia Senate for its bipartisan support. This vital legislation protects Georgians by ensuring that criminals who sell poisons like fentanyl are held accountable.

Great morning on our family farm in Butts County with my friend and our outstanding Senate Agriculture Chairman, @RussGoodman8. Agriculture is Georgia’s #1 industry and the backbone of our economy. I’ll always fight for rural Georgia and the men and women who get up before daylight to feed and fuel our state 🇺🇸

Georgia agriculture is a top driver of our state’s economy and a way of life for countless families. The Senate Study Committee on Agriculture and Consumer Affairs, chaired by Senator Russ Goodman, works to ensure farmers, producers, and consumers have the tools they need to thrive. Senator Lee Anderson serves as Vice Chair, Senator Larry Walker III as Secretary, and members include Senators Max Burns, Drew Echols, Bo Hatchett, Carden Summers, and Sam Watson. This past session, the committee focused on supporting Georgians impacted by Hurricane Helene, championing legislation such as the TREES Act to provide much-needed relief and help farmers and rural communities recover and rebuild. In addition, the committee has worked to strengthen Georgia’s reputation as a national leader in agriculture by addressing issues that matter to both producers and consumers—protecting family farms, expanding markets, and ensuring food safety.  From storm recovery to modernizing laws that keep Georgia agriculture competitive, the Senate Study Committee on Agriculture and Consumer Affairs is leading with solutions that put Georgia’s farm families first. By tackling challenges head-on and embracing opportunities for growth, Senate Republicans are making sure agriculture remains the backbone of our economy and a proud tradition that carries Georgia forward for generations to come.

My good friend and fellow blueberry farmer Steve Mullis sent me this photo this morning of this beautiful rainbow around Capitol Square. In an area with no shortage of egos, maybe it’s just God’s gentle way of reminding everyone this morning who’s really in charge!🇺🇸🙏

Three characteristics I truly appreciate in people is humility, honesty and authenticity. You can’t fake being genuine and to be honest with the people, you must first be honest with yourself by knowing who you are and not being afraid to show the real “you” to others. In a world with too many fakes, people like Mike are unfortunately becoming more rare and it’s something I truly admire about him. Personally I like having someone represent me who can be just as comfortable talking to the CEO or the lowest level employee in the company and be able to genuinely relate to both of them. I talked with Mike a week or so ago and he told me he was praying about the Senate. I told him that God would lead him and that he’d know what the right thing to do is one way or the other and when he knew that God would give him peace about whatever decision he makes. He grinned and told me that’s exactly what his pastor told him. Whatever decision Mike comes to, you can believe he’ll explain his decision with an unvarnished truth. I admire people who aren’t afraid to be themselves and Mike has that in abundance. No matter what he decides, I’m proud to call him my friend, am thankful he’s in our congressional delegation and that people like Mike are still willing to offer themselves up for public service.

Today, Governor Kemp signed several key bills into law to support Georgia's students and their safety. Senate Bill 1, sponsored by Senator Greg Dolezal, bans biological males from girls’ sports. Senate Bill 82, sponsored by Senator Clint Dixon, supports access to high-quality charter schools. Senate Bill 123, by Senator John Kennedy, addresses the root causes of chronic absenteeism in schools. House Bill 81, carried by Senator Larry Walker, increases mental health support for students. House Bill 268, carried by Senator Bill Cowsert, enhances school safety and supports first responders in school emergencies. House Bill 307, carried by Senator Billy Hickman, focuses on early support and assistance for dyslexic students. These measures prioritize the well-being and future of Georgia's children and are promises kept by the Senate Republican Caucus to deliver on school safety, literacy, and protecting women’s sports.

@HHandmaid @VoteSamWatson His New York strips are $36 per pound. You should buy your meat from him. Unfortunately most Americans can’t afford that. I know I certainly can’t.

Really appreciated our new Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins for taking the time to visit with us at the Capitol. She no doubt has a heart for the American farmer and I especially appreciate her eagerness to find ways to level the playing field for American farm families.
