@IlliniJen @JBPritzker You are way wrong on this one @IlliniJen. It’s about eliminating distractions and halting stupid social media garbage in the schools. If parents are that concerned about what their kids are learning, send them with a GoPro.

Illinois House passed @JBPritzker’s cellphone bill SB 2427 (102-3). Kids bring phones. Teachers already confiscate them. Parents are demanding real classroom transparency so we know exactly what’s happening with our kids every single day. Springfield wants to keep us in the dark. Don’t want this? Call your state senator.

The IL House votes 102-3-1 to pass a bill requiring every school district to adopt a policy banning students from using cellphones during class. The ban would be bell-to-bell for elementary and middle school students. Policies would need to be in place by the 2027-28 school year.

104%. That is what a child born today needs in lifetime earnings just to pay federal pension promises. In less than 6.5 years, the Social Security trust fund is empty and the Medicare trust fund is empty. That is how you make our kids poorer and double poverty of seniors.

TDIL that John Lennon was an even bigger piece of shit than I had thought before. Abandoning children is horrid especially when that parent has the financial means to provide a good life for them at little overall cost to their impish desires.

This is a falsehood. Undocumented immigrants are not eligible for federal assistance. Virtually all are working hard; often extremely hard, 80+ hours a week, and face exploitation from unscrupulous employers. Many *literally* build this country; 50% of Texas construction workers!
Lydia Moynihan@LydiaMoynihan

America has always been a nation of immigrants. But in the 1800s, immigrants came here to BUILD this country. No welfare, no handouts, just opportunity and hard work. Today millions cross illegally and immediately get on government assistance. That's not the same thing.

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen!" He has risen indeed. Hallelujah! Happy Easter, everyone. God Bless you.

PhD in Ed from Harvard. Enough said. He’s great for the Cats. He’ll trash the athletics fundraising while jazz handing all over the quad. We’ll have the entire state to ourselves for recruiting again inside of 2 years. If we weren’t financially tied together, I’d say go for it. Since MSU will be forced to bail out UM yet again, please don’t pick this guy. I’d rather keep our $ than prop up the zoo a second time.

Why is Montana taking Idaho’s woke rejects to run the University of Montana? Once Idaho found out who this guy was, he was not offered the permanent Presidency role at Boise State. Let’s hope the Board of Regents does its due diligence and rejects him. gemstatechronicle.com/2026/03/the-fu…

@ThoughtCrimes80 She does it to herself. She votes for whack-a-do D’s in Colorado state and local elections because she doesn’t like Trump. Not a fan of Trump but people need vote for candidates who will stop increasing the cost of living, not just who likes/hates Trump.

I went shopping in Castle Rock today. Found my way into a little store on 3rd and talked with the shop owner for 20 minutes. She’s stressed. About rent. Utilities. Gas. Taxes. She’s worried about tariffs because she imports goods. She’s seeing fewer and fewer customers. (I was literally the only person in her store). She was annoyed about the bag rules and the local PIF tax that’s coming for her. She’s angry about her commute from DTC and how she has to pay for the toll just to get home. She’s stressed that the cost of gas will increase her shipping costs. And just when I thought she was going to bring up Colorado politics, she brings up Trump. She hates Trump because her business is in shambles. I mentioned that the local government has a lot to do with what she’s experiencing, but yes, the tariffs are certainly due to federal policy. She doesn’t know how much longer she (and the other brick and mortar stores in the area) can stay alive. As a business owner, I feel for her. She’ll likely be closed by Christmas at her current trajectory. I thought about her the entire drive home. We’re witnessing a massive shift to online consumerism. If it can’t be purchased on Amazon, we don’t want it. You’ll start to see more local shops close their doors due to rising costs of goods, rent/utility costs and fewer customers. Toss in AI and the future looks pretty bleak for anyone who isn’t skilled in a specific trade. And I’m just blackpilled enough to know there’s no way to stop it. It doesn’t matter who we vote for; this is our future now. As I was leaving, I wished her good luck, but I knew it was likely the last time I would see her store open. This brave new world is going to destroy a lot of dreams. Brace yourself. The next decade is going to be a rocky one.

Newsom's solution to his state's record impoverishment and energy costs? Spend more on advertising.
Russ Greene tweet media
Steve Guest@SteveGuest

Brutal indictment of Gavin Newsom’s energy policies in the Washington Post: Three cautionary tales from the Iran energy shock “Germany, Taiwan and California are cautionary tales. All three have had their politics shaped by green movements, and all three are more vulnerable for it. When environmentalists came to power, they forced the premature retirement of nuclear reactors, coal plants and oil refineries. They calculated that the planet’s needs demanded it and that global markets would fill the gap. All three polities are now frantically reversing course, but energy sources can’t be rebuilt overnight. … In California, environmental regulations have achieved something remarkable: They have severed the state’s gasoline market from the rest of the country. Unique fuel blend mandates mean no other state’s gasoline is compatible with California’s. Other onerous regulations — emissions fines, profit caps, drilling restrictions — have driven refiners out. And there are no inbound pipelines for crude or refined products. Now gas is approaching $6 a gallon.   With no domestic replacement, California became dependent on gasoline imports from Asian refineries — which are now cutting shipments because the Strait of Hormuz is closed. As Chevron’s refining chief, Andy Walz, recently put it, “The California intent to offshore carbon to other nations has offshored their security of supply.” Chevron has warned it could leave California entirely within a decade unless regulations change.”
