CNN had an article titled “The father of a 5-year-old boy killed in North Carolina says the suspect was a neighbor for eight years” and didn’t mention Sessoms race one time. The prosecutors in North Carolina accepted an Alford plea, which allowed Sessoms to avoid the death penalty and maintain his innocence while accepting that the prosecution has enough evidence to convict. The federal government didn’t step in and try him a second time like they did with Derek Chauvin because it’s more important for them to score political points with the black community than to prove in a court of law that a murderer is guilty of such a heinous crime. We live in a country where people remember and honor the names of crackheads, fentanyl addicts, woman abusers, rapists, and pedos because they’re black, but very few people remember and honor innocent 5 year old Cannon Hinnant
