@Rust_ranger57 Oh there's a good reason for that. My father is QUITE against me joining because he thinks there's 0 evidence for the BOM so they gave me it because Theres a huge section in it discussing evidence. Now ofc that won't convince em but hey I gotta the book now😭

@SirKn1ght47 @dankmemesdoot Yeah I think I saw this one in the mission field. Definitely had some weird stuff in it. Better to stick to Preach my Gospel.

@dankmemesdoot Ya know I think it was on my mission that I heard this theory from someone we were teaching I guess it comes up often enough that some people put it in their independently-printed missionary resource XD

@dankmemesdoot Surprisingly there are some faiths that believe this And sadly us Latter-day Saints are one of the few I've seen that don't declare Adam and Eve to have been horrible people

@maks_1_1__ Something that big would have difficulty docking to smaller space stations. We also just generally need some competition in crew launch or the cost won't drop, and there will be fewer cool human spaceflight things going on.

@Rust_ranger57 Who cares how big it is if it's cheaper? They only reason why Dragon is better is safety during landing.

@SpaceKoala Was really hoping that a formal Blue capsule announcement was coming soon until the pad explosion. Sadly they'll probably wait a good while before saying anything now.

@SpaceKoala This is some "we used to drink from the hose" toxic nostalgia They'll make up any reason that people are having less kids, other than accepting that the cost of living is really high, dating culture today is awful, and some simply don't want kids.

@pronounced_kyle Gosh the original post is vile. I suspect it's rage bait, but who knows. Drinking and driving is a horrible sin and I have zero sympathy for any who have such disregard for the safety of themselves, those in their car, and others on the road.

PSA for those who don’t follow spaceflight and think that SpaceX is just Starship “failures": Starship is a development program for a next-gen rocket. Their current rocket is Falcon 9, the only partially reusable rocket on the market that launches at scale, and it is absolutely dominating. Thanks to F9 in 2026 so far SpaceX has launched more than half of all rockets in the world (including by other American companies). And when Starship is operational even this will look like rookie numbers.

@imrightthough @Truthful_ast The point is that most rockets in the past discarded their 1st stages. Destroying your vehicle every flight of course costs a lot of money. So if you can figure out how to recover it, that saves a lot of money, and this can be done with landing legs, parachutes, or a catch net.

@SpaceKoala Sadly a lot of people look dumb by posting their amazing vision of a HSR map with a line that just bores straight through the Colorado Rockies. HSR and slower rail travel are awesome. We just need to actually find amtrak and actually enforce passenger rail right of way.

We should 100% build HSR where it can be profitable, but also need to not be dumb about it (glares at California's obstruction culture causing spiraling costs). Overbuilding to China's extent would be stupid.

What's funny is that China basically took out a trillion dollars in loans to build HSR, and actually owes more money than it took to build the system in the first place. At least the US highway system has mostly already been paid for with gas and use taxes.

@moqtadalsadr @deltaIV9250 You really can just say stuff Everything that I enjoy reading someone online is presenting the "objective fact" that it has boring prose, or in this case, is "slop." I've read Weir, Crichton, and Asimov. All had strengths and weaknesses. It's not a big deal.
