@Truthful_ast Wish they'd wait until an actual clear timeline for having crew on this thing was established before making these announcements

@SpaceKoala I'm really, really confused. People are saying that deli meat is literally as bad as cigarettes? I really doubt that could be true. Is is literally just all red meat? Obviously if you're just constantly eating red meat every day that's not good, but "as bad as cigarettes"?

The coolest "silo" in Eastern WA... is a Stage 1 rocket structure.🤘 Enjoy this footage of all the testing happening in Moses Lake, from structural qualification to engine hot fires.

@KezzieSquared And I'm dreading that some disgruntled space enthusiasts will start putting hashtags on their posts or icons on their profile to indicate they're "real space fans" and it'll be really cringey. Can't stand the stock bros but it'll still be cringey.

Cannot stress enough how stupid the discourse around Artemis is going to get solely because of SpaceX going public Every stockbro will suddenly be an expert on rocketry, and their "wisdom" will make some of the most insufferable morons of Spitter seem like Nobel Prize laureates
perigeeaero.shop@Orbital_Perigee

dude if you think being slightly negative about SpaceX now is bad and gets you dogpiled, soon if you post that you think HLS might be delayed thirty people that don’t even know what HLS means are gonna come to your house and shoot you

Covering literally anything that's slightly more technical than surface-level information is going to become impossible with the way the investors are going to throw around bullshit on 'manipulating the stock price'. Oh well

@Orbital_Perigee I'm already starting to see the SpaceX stock bros seeping in on some posts. They aren't "wow, cool rocket" they're "SpaceX really maximizes growth margins"

@Truthful_ast Can't wait for all the comments of "shill for China" and all that just because a space enthusiast made something about the Chinese space program

@Astrobiohacker @zetalyrae Well the lake itself doesn't have much activity, but again, ecosystems around the great salt lake rely on that specific environment. In the same way that the southern Utah desert has a great deal of life in it when you look past the surface.

TIL about NAWAPA, a plan to redirect rivers from Alaska to Montana, and damn the Rocky Mountain Trench to build an 800km long artificial reservoir. Great idea for a high-modernist alt-history.

@xdNiBoR @Zahul420 Maybe. I just don't want to do some crap like start a hashtag with "realspacefans" or some cringey bs. I don't like people only into space for investment stuff but I don't want to make the space enthusiast community look insufferable either.

SpaceX's IPO is less than a month away and the dumb stock bros are already annoying me massively. Starlink user terminals are not made in Hanam. They are made in Bastrop, Texas. Wistron NeWeb does make some components for the routers and networking gear, but not the terminals themselves. Please, if you want real information about Starlink/SpaceX, follow accounts that actually know something about the company. Don't invest based on advice from chatgpt accounts 🙏

5. Wistron NeWeb TWSE: 6285 Reuters-confirmed primary manufacturer of Starlink user terminals. SpaceX directed production expansion to Vietnam to de-risk from Taiwan. $30M factory in Hanam province. Workforce set to double. 8M+ Starlink customers, each terminal built here.

@Zahul420 @xdNiBoR Lol. Not afraid of mean comments. I don't want my feed to be nothing but exhausting stock bros with no deeper interest in spaceflight than obsession over finances, who talk about everything in a string of buzzwords.

@peterrhague @theipaper And that is helping them for now. But spaceflight will drop in cost, show big projects can be done more efficiently, make these overruns far harder to rationalize. Unlike the HSR projects in the UK and California, Artemis actually has plans to improve and succeed.

Happy to see @theipaper adopt my favourite unit of account; but this wording may lead readers to believe the cost of just the Artemis II flight was £70bn. The cost of one SLS/Orion mission on its own is more like £3bn. £70bn is for the whole program up to a Moon base.

@mathsboi42 I like the less densely packed mountain west - but then I think of places like northern Canada, the middle of the Amazon, Tierra Del Fuego, and many tiny out of the way Islands - And I just wonder why people live there. So far away from everything...
