‘Why can’t Ukraine just be neutral? Like Switzerland. Like Austria. Like Finland was.’
Let’s examine the catalogue, item by item.
Switzerland: universal conscription, a militia in every village, mountains pre-wired for demolition, a rifle culture centuries deep. That is not neutrality. That is a porcupine with a flag.
Finland: ‘neutral’ for decades — while building one of Europe’s largest artillery forces and a society designed for total defense. At the first credible opening, it joined NATO in months. Ask the Finns what their neutrality was: a waiting room with weapons.
Austria: neutral by treaty — signed only after Stalin died, honored only because NATO stood a bicycle ride away.
And the item everyone forgets: Ukraine already ran this experiment. Non-aligned status, written into law. That was the Ukraine Russia invaded in 2014.
The pattern is airtight. Neutrality is not a status you declare. It is a price your neighbor must be unable to afford.
Moscow could afford Ukraine’s neutrality. It cannot afford Switzerland’s.
That arithmetic — not the paperwork — is the whole answer.

Ладно, опять сложные годы, опять решающий момент. Тысячу лет ничего, кроме нелёгких годин, переправ и критических моментов, в истории России не было и нет. За тысячу лет не было в стране даже пары десятилетий подряд нормальной жизни, а не борьбы за выживание.
Но, повторюсь, ладно.
Другой вопрос у меня сейчас.
Вопрос простой: тебе, Путин, кто вообще право дал судьбу народа на кон ставить? Ты кто такой, чтобы народ в свои геополитические картишки проигрывать?
А Путин проигрывает. И проиграет.
И его проигрыш потом как раз народ и будет оплачивать. Путин-то помрёт, а народу придётся ой как долго расплачиваться за то, что Путин судьбу этого народа на кон поставил.

Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev:
Russian energy infrastructure is being destroyed and taken out of operation.
Russia is no longer able to supply all of its traditional partners with sufficient gas and oil.
We should not abandon the green agenda, but at the same time European banks should reconsider their decision so that oil and gas infrastructure projects can once again receive investment.
If that happens, Azerbaijan will be able to significantly increase its exports of natural gas and oil to Europe, including Germany.

Many replied to my last post: fine, removing Putin isn’t enough — but surely the Russian opposition is the alternative.
I don’t believe it is.
Most of Russia’s liberals oppose Putin. Very few oppose the empire.
Ask them about corruption, and they are eloquent. Ask them about Crimea, reparations, or the subjugated peoples inside Russia’s own borders, and the eloquence fades into ‘it’s complicated.’
I watched this for years from Georgia. In 2008, much of Russia’s intelligentsia — people who despised Putin at home — found reasons why bombing my country was regrettable but understandable.
The test of a Russian democrat was never his position on Putin. It is his position on empire.
Until Russia produces an opposition that wants a smaller, humbler Russia — not a better-managed one — regime change will only change the management.
The empire will simply hire new executives.

I may even add; those who study Russian, who read Russian literature, and those who are communists are also like today’s Russia! Even communists of Turkiye support Russian aggression towards Ukraine and the world. So it’s not about Putin, it’s way bigger villain!

I often hear that Putin is the villain. Remove Putin, people say, and Russia's aggression will end. I disagree. His removal would undoubtedly trigger significant changes. After 26 years of authoritarian rule, it couldn't be otherwise. But I don't believe it would bring the fundamental transformation Russia needs. Putin did not create Russian imperialism. He is its latest successful manifestation. Long before Putin, post-Soviet Russia was already waging brutal wars and inflicting immense suffering in Chechnya, Georgia, and across the South Caucasus. Putin didn't invent this mindset. He systematized it. The roots of the problem run much deeper than one man. They lie in an imperial worldview and a master-slave mentality that has survived the collapse of the Soviet Union. That's why I believe Russia needs something far more profound than a change of leadership. It needs a cataclysmic reckoning that convinces ordinary Russians that the path they have chosen leads not to greatness, but to destruction—first and foremost, their own.

Bu arada, Tambov ve Moskova’da Wildberries depolarına yapılan saldırılar çok önemli. Tambov oblastindeki saldırıda 7 kişi öldü.
