@BreeSolstad Up until a few years ago I literally thought wind came from the mass displacement of the movement of clouds (like a car passing by generates wind).
English

I have to admit that this kind of candor only makes me like her more & find her more relatable.
We all have something we don’t know that is obvious to other people. For me, it was that the little arrow beside the gas-pump icon tells you which side of the car the gas tank is on.
Viva Frei@thevivafrei
Serious question @RealCandaceO: did you really not know that thunder came from lightning? I will admit that I once thought penguins were much bigger than they are. But did you seriously not know that thunder came from lightning? It’s possible this was a bit. In which case, so be it. Can you confirm?
English

@andresmessina2 @ChristandGuitar @HadesUndead No, it doesn’t matter what many/most think of me. They are my brothers in Christ and we have lifted the excommunications against them and I pray for a unified Apostolic Church. And I can admit that the first thousand years of ecclesiology looked more like modern EO than RC.
English

@Rusty459937 @ChristandGuitar @HadesUndead Yeah and for them you are schismatics condemned to damnation outside the ark of the true church so it hardly matters does it?
English

Can we get a Protestant on Tucker who actually represents us accurately without the strawmen?
Jay Dyer (Orthodox) reduces the Calvinistic/Reformed view of salvation to "mere mental assent" — with the only change being God's disposition toward a person.
That's not what any Protestant teaches, other than the hyper free-grace OSAS antinomian fringe.
We teach justification by faith alone in Christ: a sinner goes from hating God to repenting and trusting Him. This is a real spiritual regeneration by God's grace alone, not just rubber-stamping an individual as "saved" and sending him on his way.
Yes, we are legally declared righteous at the moment of faith:
Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
But Scripture also teaches sanctification — not as a means to achieve salvation, but as a byproduct of becoming a new creation in Christ:
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
Those whom God justifies in Christ, He will also glorify:
Romans 8:30
And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.
English

@andresmessina2 @ChristandGuitar @HadesUndead The Orthodox definitely disagree with Catholics on many things but the Venn diagram between us and them overlap much more than the baptists do with the Orthodox or Catholics, who shared communion with each other for over a millennium.
English

@a_westgate Baptists are the most historically ignorant sect of false a Christianity in the American South hands down.
English

20+ baptized at Orthodox church in Mississippi

St. Paul Orthodox Church (Antiochian Archdiocese) in Tupelo, Mississippi, celebrated a joyous event on Saturday, July 11, as nearly two dozen people were united to Christ in Holy Baptism.

English

@ChristandGuitar @HadesUndead Because your entire worldview collapses in the context of historical Christianity, the teachings of the Apostles, and the Early Church. You cling to a man made religion that only exists to rebel against that historical Church.

@ComeHometoRome @TuckerCarlson This is so disingenuous, and a completely retarded take. He’s not afraid of Catholics. He debates Trent Horn and other actual Catholic apologists regularly.
English

@TuckerCarlson Jay Dyer blocked me on X because he's afraid of Catholics

More people than ever are discovering there’s true evil in the world and they’re turning to God for answers. Jay Dyer explains the growing popularity of the Orthodox Church.

I think Fr. Seraphim Rose’s Orthodox Survival Course is a good example of how to connect the dots, since he reveals the “spiritual engine” behind the Filioque and shows how that same driving force reappears and shapes the course of Western spirituality and thought from the eleventh century onward. It is not so much a matter of explaining why this is so as, first and foremost, of showing that it is in fact so.

@jp_life_legacy It has nothing to do with the SSPX. Do you know how few of those other traditional societies are? Do you realize that diocesan TLMs are rapidly being ended even though they are the fastest growing and most thriving parishes?
English

@sinnerandrew @Alex_Ortodoxie @orthobrohammer Yeah it’s not about doctrine it’s about the pressure to “perform” in charismatic churches. If you don’t “perform” you are seen as not having the Holy Ghost. I use perform intentionally here because whether consciously or subconsciously, it is a performance.
English

@Alex_Ortodoxie @Rusty459937 @orthobrohammer I have no such experience, so I never really understand what many of our converts and catechumens mean when they talk about the relief that we're so low / no pressure. I was trying to respond that we actually don't compromise on doctrine, and they'd be "that's not what I mean"
English

Charismatics claim the Spirit leads them to speak gibberish…
…but apparently the Spirit can’t lead them to win a single debate.
Protestia@Protestia
This is not a biblical "outpouring" of the Holy Spirit
English

@Alex_Ortodoxie @orthobrohammer As someone who grew up in these type of churches (and thank God got out) they influence people to “speak in tongues”. My mother didn’t have it happen spontaneously so the preacher told her “do what other people do then it will come to you.” Anecdote but this happens often.
English

@orthobrohammer Show their views cannot withstand scrutiny via debates so that people stop misleading their children.
Not complicated, dude.

@OrthodoxChrist2 @bannedpastor @Alex_Ortodoxie I grew up in rural Alabama, and there are a lot of ignorant Protestants that really believe king James English was the language of Christ. I’m not even remotely joking.
English

@bannedpastor @Alex_Ortodoxie So did the Apostles, cultist. Or are you under the impression that the Apostles all spoke KJV English?
English

The manuscripts underlying the Textus Receptus came from Orthodox Christians you unstoppable moron 😭😭😭
bannedpastor@bannedpastor
Funny how orthobros use Protestant bibles!
English

@Rusty459937 @JayDyer @YouTube These Churches have an authentic doctrine, but it is static, petrified as it were. They remain faithful to the tradition of the first Christian millennium, but they reject later developments on the grounds that Catholics decided upon these developments without them.”
