Infant Baptism is practiced in Catholic and Orthodox Churches. This sacrament is very essential as it washes away original sin, gives every infant the opportunity to become Christians, Children of God, and members of His church. Parents, on behalf of their children, take the proclamation of faith, by rejecting satan, the father of sin, and all his works. This is not "forcing" faith but entrusting the child to God's grace, much like parents make countless decisions for their children's well-being. Infant Baptism is very essential incase of mortality. In the Catholic church, when the child becomes of age, they will confirm what their parents did for them while recieving the sacrament of confirmation.

Harsh truths for Noncatholics: Mary is a better Christian than you'll ever be. The Catholic Church has more authority to interpret Scripture than you'll ever have. Jesus is infinitely more present in the Eucharist than He'll ever be in your church's pale shadow of communion.
