“When we initially found out she had dementia, there was a very low period because none of us knew how to deal with it. But then I saw a change in Dad - he attacked it like he was back on the track. Dementia is the opponent and he’s determined to beat it.” ~ Mark Stewart

1966. Ten years prior over 50 drivers had been killed in racing accidents. His crusade for driver safety began. Leading to a boycott of the #beliumgp in 1969. Safety is now a priority in motorsports. With this same spirit and determination he founded #raceagainstdementia

Was reading that people back in the 70s never drank “water” much, that they didnt think of carrying a bottle or water back then. We kids did. Poverty was such we couldn’t always afford pop, we took empty pop bottles filled with water to the park on hot days. Slightly sticky water

@SoVeryBritish You also need a rest between opening your front door and bringing the shopping in from the car.

To my mind, bringing the shopping in from the car and unpacking the shopping are two separate tasks which require a rest and a snack between them.

@JimClarkTrust Totally agree and happy birthday to Doug. He’s worked apparently tirelessly on Jim Clark’s memory and celebration of his life

So we’ve all heard the news about Sir Lewis Hamilton signing for Ferrari. Jim spent his entire F1 career with Lotus but did sit in a Ferrari. What would your F1 dream team look like? Name your fantasy two drivers, teams & era in the comments. #LewisHamilton #Ferrari #JimClark

@ilovenostalgia lol, I remember! I don't know why we always put them in the bedroom, but we did! Strange thinking about it because the bedroom wasn't even near the front door and the opposite of the house.

Does anyone else have an old memory of all the coats and jackets being thrown on your parent's bed when people came over? Did I dream this?

#TheArchers I wonder if Adil would find a "night of passion" with Helen a persuasive argument.

Ahhhhhh…. Salad Cream…. The mayonnaise of the 1970s. Salad in those days was rolled up ham, boiled egg halves, lettuce leaves, quartered tomatoes and salad cream. Zero dressing. (Possibly a celery stick) #TheArchers
