Fortune had no income and no vision for her future when she joined our Gerakure “Venture Beyond!” Project in partnership with @RwandaWomen, funded by Project Redwood . Today she runs a poultry business and sells fruits and vegetables at a local market where she earns up to 50,000 Rwf (~$34) a month. This is what investing in women looks like. Tunoze Umurimo is a cooperative trained through our Gerakure program. They make liquid soaps, bar soaps, juices and other products. Before the workshop, members were afraid to take loans because they doubted they could repay them. They often faced losses and felt discouraged, thinking that was just how things were. The training changed their mindset. Instead of seeing losses as normal, they started thinking proactively, diversifying their income, and exploring new opportunities rather than sticking to the same activities. Members also gained confidence to borrow and invest, trusting their own ability to plan, handle challenges and repay the cooperative. Tunoze Umurimo is a good example of how the right mindset, combined with practical skills helps women and businesses gain more courage to build resilient businesses. #WomenLead #ResonateImpact

“We learned to accept what happened, and that changed everything.” After joining our Stronger Together Shaping Tomorrow program, Beline shared how her family rebuilt their relationship after their daughter’s pregnancy. With renewed support from both parents, the daughter returned to school, her child is cared for, and hope was restored at home. “My husband and I now help take care of our daughter and her child. She feels at home again, she is happy, and she has regained hope for life.” — Beline, Mother Stories like Beline’s remind us that open conversations are often the first step toward healing, sparking personal change that can ripple through families and across communities.

Confidence grows when women are given space to speak and are truly heard. Through our programs, women and girls practice using their voice, build confidence, and strengthen their ability to make informed decisions. Tami spent time with us learning about our work and, best of all, got to meet some of our past participants. I stopped waiting and started acting. I applied for an internship I never thought I deserved, earned a job, worked hard, and saved my earnings to open my own beauty salon. Last week, we completed our #RiseandSTEM workshop with 133 female students from @RwCodingAcademy. Despite being brilliant in class, when it comes to applying for jobs or starting businesses, girls hold back. And that has to change. Our workshop aimed to build their confidence and inspire them to excel not only academically but also in the job market and in creating income-generating projects. They were encouraged to love what they are studying and, most importantly, put it into practice. Because academic achievement is just the beginning, and when we equip our girls with self-belief and entrepreneurial skills, there is no limit to what they can accomplish. #ConfidenceBuilding #SheCodes #GirlsInSTEM #GirlPower

From 53 participants in 2013 to over 40,000 today, our story lives in the women who chose courage over doubt, action over hesitation, and leadership over silence. But the work is far from finished.
