And still, as of this report, Robertson has not agreed to extend in Detroit, and I still think Yzerman is squeamish on paying a winger $15m when he needs to pay DeBrincat $11m if he is staying. Though I did rough math on the roster next season, and you could get away with it while also paying a center over 11m.

@GrindLinePod I have a team building question maybe a good topic on the pod. If you do trade for for Robertson. Can you coteend with a less productive center core who plays good defense? Robo Kasper Raymond then can have cat Danielson MBN. Then you have 100 third fourth liners.

It's not a try, it's posturing. Steve knows he isnt getting Boldy or Johnston. His plan is to improve the team, he's telling Larkin that thats what he wants from those teams and his plan isnt changing just because he wants out. Open your list or we'll see you in the fall.

@jrh002DFS Can you explain how copp is a bad contract? He is paid like a 3 c and has been playing as a 2c for most of the contract. He doesn’t score but is good in the dot and defensively.

@Ry0vum @jrh002DFS We’ve had center issues the entirety of his time here. Hes no longer an awful contract with the cap exploding and he’s an NHL player for sure, but he’s always been disappointing here and was paid much more than a 3C when he signed

The Yzerplan clearly didn’t work, Larkin has requested a trade and Debrincat is a year away from being an UFA. Yzerman has been reluctant to trade Larkin for futures but he should seriously consider just tearing it down, taking futures for Larkin and flip Cat between now and the deadline to the highest bidder. Outside of Raymond, Seider, and possibly Edvinsson, this roster long term without Larkin is really really bad
