@rob_alvord Talent aside, the fact that AJ loves the state of Utah and could realistically want to play his entire career for the Jazz has to at least be a consideration. There's a good chance a high profile draft pick will be in a Jazz uniform for only 7 or 8 years.

@jimmerfredette I'm good with giving up a future first and a solid role player, or two firsts with one having some protections. But wouldn't give up someone like Ace to make the swap. Peterson is a great get at #2, so sending a player with star potential to take AJ is too much

He would get spread out against small ball lineups and be forced to play help defense when ball handlers would blow past the other 4 defenders on the floor, leaving his man open. Rudy’s defense wasn’t the problem

31 players defended 200+ isolations this year. Rudy Gobert ranked #1, allowing 0.77 points per iso. Evan Mobley was 3rd & Bam Adebayo was 5th to give some context for the company he's in. Gobert a more complete, dominant defender now than when he won his 3 DPOY in '18, '19 & '21.

Gobert was asked after the game if that snub gave him more juice in tonight's game. "No extra juice. I know who I am. Not the first time I get disrespected, probably not the last. @BleacherReport @Deseret As a lifelong BYU fan, he needs to go to the draft. Obviously would love to see him play another year in a BYU uniform, but that would not be a wise decision at all. Take online classes if you want or take classes in the off-season.

@pcdebol @jjfuller72 You’re missing the point entirely. He’s not saying that missed call actually mattered - obviously it would’ve been declined. He’s saying the fluke fumble was karma for the bad missed calls that favored GTech, including this missed block in the back.

@jjfuller72 It's irrelevant on this play. BYU would have declined it regardless. Even if Tech had recovered. The loss from the fumble would have been greater than the penalty. Good no call.
