@AndrewYang This is generally a poorly understood situation. It’s also not unprecedented. The Camp fire burned nearly the entire town of Paradise CA (2018 I believe) destroying a similar amount of homes and killing many more people. LA fires big news. But definitely not the first.

@AndrewYang It would be dark at 9am mid winter where I live in Idaho if we did that. It would not be great for morning exercise . It’s hard enough as it is in the winter. But everywhere and everyone will have different issues with any option.

I think the move is to extend Daylight Savings Time all year. Get rid of the switching back and forth though that is very unhealthy. Costs lives due to traffic fatalities. 2020.yang2020.com/policies/exten…

@rhys_isterix @wser Most of the course runs through wilderness areas with very little to no coverage (for example, the UTMB live production team came to Canyons last year and basically turned around after seeing how limited it was). We do what we can despite limitations. That’s the main difference

The Department of Labor has raised the overtime threshold, per MorePerfectUnion. The new rule says that everyone who makes under $58,656 and works over 40 hours a week must be paid time-and-a-half.

How cool would it be if most (all?) top trail talent showed up at Gary’s race next year instead of UTMB? I have never done UTMB (to be clear, not because of some moral superiority thing, it’s just not my preferred course type, but I had planned on going eventually). It would be hard to justify now. I totally understand that someone who has built a running career on steep mtn trails has a different decision than I would in this situation, but absolutely love the idea of everyone showing up at Gary’s event and putting enough eyeballs (read $$$) on it so it isn’t even a compromise to be there.

@Talkultra @ajoneswilkins @UTMBWorldSeries If all non Hoka brands and athletes coalesced around another race, Gary’s new one perhaps, it could be better for all of them, brands and athletes included. Just not Hoka and Hoka athletes. They could collectively suck the air out of the UTMB room.

@unusual_whales Being “locked in” tied to your house is not good. No one will move for opportunities. I sold my house and moved states with my family for a big job. Finically it hurt us in the short run. But being tied to a mortgage rate is dumb.
