My Son has never been in trouble, to be honest he's a bit too square, wish hed be a little more jack the lad as I was. Hes not, he's just hard working, diligent, honest and determined to do well in life which he will. It breaks my heart that as he walks back from work, through Nottingham on an evening he has to walk through crowds of this, he shouldn't have to, and me and his Mother shouldn't have to worry as we do.

I don’t know of a SINGLE hospitality business that would like to stay open beyond the hours they are currently licensed for. This clueless Govt are desperate to throw up these nonsense smokescreens in an attempt to demonstrate they are helping the sector & boosting the economy.

@SussexWineProd @jamieoliver Didn’t need to pick a central london site with ridiculous overheads.. If anything needs those sales to stand still it’s not a viable place to open

Moving article about ⁦@jamieoliver⁩’s struggle with Dyslexia. But this paragraph struck me… ‘Last January his restaurant had to take £65,000 a week to break even. Now, he says, it needs to take £80,000.’ Madness thetimes.com/article/2ca882…

Can you help settle a debate please? In a fancy restaurant is it acceptable to dip your finger in the food or wipe the plate clean with your finger? I hold a strong position on this but the kitchen and those out front are very divided. Those who’ve eaten with me will know my take

@EaterWriter Yes completely Would be game changing. Lower prices mean more people will visit. Margins better and some actual profit maybe

If there was a campaign to halve UK VAT for tourism and hospitality (effectively giving us 10% of our turnover back to invest or pay debts) with major backing from key media, would you, as an operator, regardless of the sense of it, promise to lower prices by a visible 5%?

When you really think about Blacklock coming to Brum, and piling cuts of animal onto a bread for the juices, it’s really just a Kurdish restaurant on the Soho Rd

Pls help me spread word: tonight 8pm ITV I'll talk you through how to check if you can boost your State Pension by possibly £10,000s. There's an urgent deadline coming after which many lose the opportunity It's a must watch for anyone age 40 to 73 (some under 40s can gain too)

A pub isn't just about having a pint. In the UK 3.6 million people suffer from chronic loneliness. Pubs are at the heart of our communities. A place for friends and family to come together. Strangers to become friends. We must do all we can to protect them.

Just booked a table for Valentines Day. No time slots available from 5:30pm - 8:15pm but every time slot available from 8:30pm onwards. Not so long ago (pre-COVID) 8:30pm was absolute prime time (particularly on a Friday). There’s no doubt the nation is eating a lot earlier.
