The United States Postal Service, USPS, doesn’t “lose” money. It costs money. It’s a public service. Don’t fall for the privatization propaganda.

Before the 1959 revolution, when Cuba was run by the mob, 40% of urban and 60% of rural Cubans were malnourished and most people in the countryside didn't have running water, electricity or public education - while 1 in 4 Cubans were fully illiterate. So everyone in the "if only Castro hadn't done this or that" crowd should probably read a book before spouting their ignorant heads off and showing us what clowns you all are.

I really wish more Americans were aware that the USPS is the only service - the ONLY one - that can reach every home in the country. All other services rely on them for "last mile" deliveries that these other (more expensive!) services refuse (or can't) deliver to!
More Perfect Union@MorePerfectUS

The Postmaster General says USPS might be forced to stop deliveries in 2027 if current trends continue. Postmaster David Steiner says the postal service "will be out of cash in less than 12 months." Steiner has has also been on the board of directors of FedEx since 2009.

Settlers reportedly tied up his arms and legs, cut off his underwear, zip-tied his penis, then paraded him around his family while beating him. Corroborated by multiple witnesses.

Israeli settlers have increasingly used violence against Palestinians in a bid to drive them from their homes in the occupied West Bank. But sexual assault appears to be a new weapon in these settlers’ arsenal of intimidation, pointing to a troubling new level of violence. cnn.it/4du8vj6

I don’t get it. If Hezbollah had flats in this block (unlikely in central Beirut but not impossible) why did the Israelis give everyone inside an hour to get out — including those they wanted to kill? And if there weren’t any Hezbollah people there, why destroy a building with dozens of civilians in it?

An Israeli airstrike struck an apartment building in central Beirut, on Wednesday. The Israeli army had warned residents to evacuate about an hour before completely flattening it as day broke.

As a kid being taught by IDF soldiers they said they were more moral than their enemies because they gave warnings before they bombed. When I asked earnestly about if anyone missed their initial warning what would they do to save them from the bombing, they called me disruptive…

Looked around my flat and wondered what I would carry with me if I was told to evacuate with an hour’s notice. Packing up a whole life in an hour and finding a place to stay? How is this not a war crime?

@BurnThroughLies @getpseudoed That’s it, the U.S. wants to be the good guys but when push comes to shove they will cast darkness & hardship on millions of people for a chance at getting their tropic Vegas back. Meanwhile even under harsh conditions Cuba comes to the aid of humanity & advances medical science.

@getpseudoed I grew up in a Republican-heavy area of my state and the way they talked about Cuba always perplexed me. Like why does our government hate them so much? It wasn't until I was older that I figured Cuba punctured the image of moral righteousness the US wanted to project. A waste.
