@jjfuller72 @RyanHyattMedia A guy in Tuscaloosa lecturing Texas Tech about being a “do whatever it takes possibly immorally to win” program is comedy. Alabama. The program that has defined win-at-all-costs roster building for 15 years.

Hocutt, Sorsby, & Cody Campbell have a way out with PR wins for all involved: 1) Hocutt/Campbell assure Sorsby that his NIL contract will be honored/paid no matter what 2) Sorsby announces that he will not play & will enter NFL Supplemental Draft to not be a distraction to his team/program nor disrespect the game/rules Campbell has proven that he has the $ to easily make this happen and if they don’t encourage Sorsby to do something like this then they are playing into the stereotype that TTU is a “do whatever it takes (possibly immorally/illegally) to win” program…. something that may be difficult to recover from.
Brandon Marcello@bmarcello

Every Big 12 AD but Texas Tech's Kirby Hocutt believes Brendan Sorsby shouldn't play. That was communicated today on the call There are plenty of ideas to convince/pressure Tech to cut Sorsby loose, but Ads believe it's common sense: He bet on his sport; Tech shouldn't play him

Texas Tech may make the CFP this year. It may advance deep in the CFP this year. Sorsby is probably going to be awesome. But if all that happens, is this how it wanted to get there? Column: on3.com/news/texas-tec…

You can’t really fault Texas Tech. They did what every single team would do. They invested heavily in Sorsby. Their other option is coming off a big injury. It was either this or punt on the season. This is the spineless NCAA’s fault.

@adame2kill4 I like football. I want the teams to have their best players. And I don't care if someone bet on themselves. If you bet against your team and played like shit we got a story.

I gotta say I am genuinely confused at the massive outrage from other schools like every one of you wouldn't pray for the same result if it was your QB.

@notthefakeDNP NCAA ruled him ineligible if my memory serves me right he went to court and plead his feelings would be hurt if he wasn’t allowed to play so the local Lubbock count judge ruled him eligible. Hard to fight a rigged deck

LSU wanted Sorsby. Indiana wanted Sorsby. What would they have done?

@junior_miller @bigcountrypaul sports.yahoo.com/college-footba… Glass houses OU fans. I realize the musers are semi retired at this point but geez learn a little about the subject before sounding off on it. The Lubbock judge recused himself from the case. He’s is a UH law grad. This is not a “mob” but nice sound bite

@bigcountrypaul Yes, that's why I was posting this updated info. Most news stories just list him as "a Lubbock judge"

Sorsby being eligible is dumb but SEC and Big Ten parties clutching their pearls about Texas Tech killing college football is very rich and ~totally~not a deliberate overreaction to take the spotlight away from them being the villains.

This whole Texas Tech deal has to be more than Sorsby. These AD’s have a problem with Cody Campbell or something cause this seems highly over reactive.

NEWS: Big Ten officials are expected to discuss in the upcoming days a league-wide mandate to not play Texas Tech in any sports, per three Big Ten sources. This is in the wake of Nebraska AD Troy Dannen informing his staff today that they aren't allowed to schedule Texas Tech.

@AndyStaples @CollegefootBoal @AriWasserman Even accounting for fan bias the factual record is what it is. Tech followed every rule. The NCAA conceded no integrity concerns in writing. A neutral Fort Worth judge agreed. Cincinnati faces zero consequences. Those facts exist independent of which team you root for.

Granted I have only listened to 7 mins for @AndyStaples and @AriWasserman and I also recognize I am a Tech fan but this romanticized view of the “integrity” of college football is such malarkey. Also that betting on your own team is SO bad.
