The @GitHubEducation and @namedotcom student deal is officially the worst thing I've ever seen. You click the link, sign in with github, choose a domain and add it to cart, then you have to login (?!) with your name.com account which somehow isn't your git account you just connected and you lose the discount. However came up with this is either hates customers or has never tried their own workflow.

@guojing0 @adilmania Wouldn’t be top of my list. But as you start to get traction and success, especially if your business depends on trust, then definitely a must read.

At some point Anthropic talked to me informally about potentially joining their Board. I wasn’t interested and wouldn’t have been a good fit. But I did send Dario and Daniela a copy of Aristotle’s “Politics.” Unfortunately, I worry they’ve been too busy to read it.

Dario Amodei: Ideology Won't Survive the Reality of AI⁣ ⁣ "We're going to find that ideology will not survive the nature of this technology. The things I'm talking about are gonna become bipartisan and universal because everyone will recognize the necessity of it." — @DarioAmodei

Slack may be the most anti-productivity product ever built. I will die on this hill.

A few people have asked me why I chose to publish this essay like this. The answer is two-fold: 1) I'm incredibly disappointed with Substack for a variety of reasons, from their doubling-down on politics (they highlight it to the detriment of other things) to the inability to customize aesthetics of an essay beyond the color of links and a drop-cap here and there; the platform looks terrible. 2) But perhaps the more proximate reason: I wanted to test my openclaw agents, and they passed the test with flying colors. In about 5 minutes, my agent (rook) spun up that website for me with nothing but a PDF of my essay and a simple prompt from me. Even purchased the domain. I want to continue experimenting with and pushing the boundaries of publishing, and anyone who buys my new book THE ONE AND THE NINETY-NINE will also see what I mean, as it contains some surprises inside of it. The writing is mine; the way you encounter it and the ways you have to interact with it will continue to evolve, and what I am doing personally is kind of like a canary in the coal mine for the Cluny Institute, as we continue to build it out as a kind of artists colony. politicaljudas.com

@justingordon212 @FoundersPodcast @AcquiredFM I've listened to some episodes 2-3 times because they're even better on re-listen. I'm not even in the back catelogue yet and the David Senra podcast launched recently. So damn good.

I think @FoundersPodcast ruined most other podcasts for me It's so good that it genuinely makes listening to other shows challenging... I'd rather just listen to another episode from the back catalog @AcquiredFM is one of the few exceptions

Finding a domain name is a nightmare. You brainstorm ideas, check availability, often for hours. So I built @NameGPTcom to fix this. NameGPT uses LLMs to generate high-quality domain ideas & instantly checks social handle availability. Try for free: namegpt.co

After an incredible year I’ve wrapped up my time at Vercel, in that time among other things I worked on: - Launching the fastest domains search on the web - Overhauling our domains registrar service to allow us to offer more domains at a lower cost - Launching Vercel for Platforms formalizing the patterns for our largest customers to build on our services - Revamping core pages like the project domains page enabling them to scale to thousands of domains I got to work with so many incredible people and learn a ton. It's my favorite group of people I've ever worked with, stay tuned for whats next 👀

Some pretty eye-opening data on the effect of AI coding. When Cursor added agentic coding in 2024, adopters produced 39% more code merges, with no sign of a decrease in quality (revert rates were the same, bugs dropped) and no sign that the scope of the work shrank. Big impact.

previously this UI only told you 'Your domain might be live in 4 hours' now you get estimates based on historical data for how long it took each TLD to come online, no more guessing or thinking things might be broken for slow to propagate tlds
