Fuck I forgot that there is a scene where Luke Skywalker's GHOST catches the REBUILT Anakin Skywalker Saber and says "I should not have thrown this saber over my shoulder in The Last Jedi" at the camera.
I may have been too hasty with my judgement.

Them giving Chewbacca a Medal at the end of TROS might be the single most "We're sorry, Reddit." scene in the entire Sequel Trilogy and that is a high bar to clear.

low key lighting and sterile coloring is one of fincher’s hallmarks and he pioneered digital cinematography in that style. his dark shots work because they fit the true crime and corporate subjects but copycats can’t do it like him so and now everything looks lazy and under lit

jackson.@cheaperby12film
often think of alex ross perry's theory that david fincher and the house of cards pilot basically ruined how tv looks

@SADVlLLAIN Oh wait. I dont need to watch anything. Nice attempt to turn the argument but the fact is that you think your opinion trumps anyone elses just because its yours. Its pathetic so do us all a favour and turn your brain on
English

@AntzS1984 watch any rian johnson interview about TLJ ohhh wait it'd probably trigger you :/
English

@SADVlLLAIN Just because your read way too deep into it, doesnt mean it the filmmakers were making the point you are making. Anyone idiot fan can parade around an overly explained opinion but that doesnt make it the creators opinion 🤦♂️
English

@SADVlLLAIN I've seen this movie ONCE and even I remember that.
You're soneone who actively defends the film and you have very basic things about it wrong.
How does that even happen?
English

Because that's literally not the point of that scene at all. That is not conveyed even a little bit.
alejandra@SADVlLLAIN
i'm at that part in tlj where luke tosses the lightsaber over his shoulder and its so funny to me how badly this scene was misunderstood by alleged sw fans like how do you not get that it's making the point that the jedi are not reducible to something as material as a lightsaber

@AntzS1984 what does luke do with rey in the 1st act? tries to teach her everything the jedi and the force are not. he builds his argument for why the jedimust end. but what he eventually realizes is that he, too, has mischaracterized what it means to be a true Jedi
English

@SADVlLLAIN Thats not the point of the scene at all and this same point was already made before and better

@SADVlLLAIN @RJLcomedy He will always be Ruin. I learned a lot about subverting peoples expectations from him. Now I get to post spoilers for all his movies, had a blast spoiling the his Knives Out movies. I subverted their spoiler free expectations. Oh and Bens dead, hahahahahaha
English

@SADVlLLAIN I get what you're saying but it is my opinion that they chose to convey this message in the most mean spirited way possible. It's not my own expectations. The fact that the arc resolves itself in a good way doesn't change that for me.
This is still explicitly mean spirited imo:

@SCentralized yes exactly. that the past must inform the present. luke was following kylo ren's mentality of "let the past die" up until yoda mentors him again. i find that very precious
English

@SADVlLLAIN Exactly- and then his arc in the film is realizing that while those things don’t *define* a Jedi, they can still be useful when used right.
English

@XommandoPrime @lite_thespark it really is so in character of him to do that and the reaction to this scene and this film made me understand how mischaracterized luke is!
English

@SADVlLLAIN @lite_thespark When it happened, it seemed right. I said, yup. That's what he'd do.
English

@SADVlLLAIN And in his final battle, he puts into practice two of Yoda's OT statements - "your weapons, you will not need them" and "a Jedi uses the force for knowledge and defence, never for attack".
