@TrackerSacker We were in phase 3 back in Feb 2014 and got the big one, but the other teleconnections were in our favor then. Literally need a miracle. But yeah, we're chopped lol.

Pretty sure we are cooked for most of this month in terms of getting winter weather back into the Southeast. The polar vortex retreat doesn’t help, but the MJO is also much of the cause. You’re not getting squat out of a phase 3/4. What happens towards the end of the month? Well if we see the MJO go into the null phase we can bring back some variability, but if it continues to tour into the warm phases, the mild pattern will go even further into March.

@SCweather_wx Looks like forever winter is over.

Active storm track will set up across the middle of the country next week. We will have a chance at a couple strong storm systems. Trough drops out West, ridge spikes in the East. Expect energy to eject across the middle. I don't see any cooldowns anytime soon for the East.
