@SCHDaccumulator I have roughly $1.5MM invested. My annual expenses are roughly $50k. I also have a $30k/yr pension I can start as early as 8 years from now.
I think this puts me firmly at level 2, but who knows.

There are 3 main levels to FIRE (financial independence retire early)
Level 1/barista FIRE: Enough $ to quit your main job but still work a more relaxed supplementary job (ex. Starbucks barista)
Level 2/Lean FIRE: Enough to quit all work but spend/live frugally
Level 3/Fat FIRE: Enough to quit all work and essentially live/spend comfortably without running out of money
My goal is to hit Level 1/lean FIRE (around 500k for me). I’d quit my 9-5 and do uber or even work at a chill retail store.
Eventually my portfolio would grow to level 2 and 3 as the compound growth continues
