A equipa rebentou fisicamente nos jogos contra o Arsenal e perdeu a mentalidade competitiva depois da derrota contra o Benfica por ter terminado a luta pelo título. Plantel por arames fisicamente, mas sobretudo muito em baixo mentalmente. As pernas estão pesadas e a bola queima nos pés dos jogadores do Sporting. Depois de uma "boa" segunda parte do Sporting, levar com dois golos nos descontos diz muito do que é o atual momento do Sporting. Final de época de terror para os Leões. A Taça de Portugal (ainda não está ganha) e a excelente campanha na Liga dos Campeões já não salvarão a temporada.

Adam Schefter says the 49ers and other teams are having a hard time getting a hold of Brandon Aiyuk as the team attempts to trade him: “I think the reason a team is not trading for him right now is they don’t want to assume the current contract that he has. It’s a situation where he hasn’t been in clear and constant communication with the Niners and they have had a hard time getting a hold of him. Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His monologue about my family isn’t comedy- his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America. People like Kimmel shouldn’t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate. A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him. Enough is enough.  It is time for ABC to take a stand.  How many times will ABC’s leadership enable Kimmel’s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community.

@BDPeacock I mean they did clear up some cap space - they’ve had luck with veteran safeties in the past, so they go that route? Go after Bosa as well maybe?

I thought the big winner in this 49ers draft was Ja’Ayir Brown. But when asked about that, John Lynch sounded bummed they didn’t draft a safety and said “we’re not done yet”.

Always liked Lombardi, even defended him sometimes…but the way he’s trying to hype up this draft is crazy. Worst part is, a bunch of fans taking that same route. You’re not smarter than people that do this for a living. I get being optimistic, but trying argue it was good🥴😂

@akashanav 100%, they draft for such specific traits and needs to fit niche holes. But prior to draft say they need “great players” and are set up to go “BPA” - then do the opposite Imagine how good this team would be with competent drafting

I wish their draft success rate was better over the last few years, but clearly not much has changed Feels like they draft for need, addressing specific holes in the roster, have specific traits/things they look for every year

Despite what happens every April in the draft (reach for players, RBs in the 3rd, OL draft picks later) Shanahan and the coaches are so good, they find ways to band aid bad draft picks, coach through injuries and have the team in the mix every year.

The whole idea that a pick can’t be good because he went higher than in irrelevant mock drafts is very tied to how wrong many continue to be dead wrong about how good Brock Purdy is. They worship draft order instead of actually watching football and understanding its meritocratic nature. Once picks report, no one in the building cares where specific players were drafted. Only fans and some analysts, all of whom aren’t actually connected to the league and its workings, care about this. That was actually one of the main draft points of a coach named… Bill Walsh

A decent amount of clips. Not sure how many of y’all make it to the end. I saw someone compare him to AJ Brown. I think he’s closer to Danny Gray than AJ Brown. Nothing about what I watched said pick 33. Now, I’m not sure what has been asked of him.. so he could have more than what I’m seeing.. but overall .. -Terrific blocker (takes pride in it) -Not a great route runner -Needs top of route work -Run after catch ability but it rarely shows up -Doesn’t consistently use threat of speed in route -Corners too comfortable in coverage -Nothing about the consistency in his game says pick 33 -What does he hang his hat on in the NFL that consistently showed up on film?

Was difficult watching De’Zhaun Stribling in the Ole Miss offense. Not a ton of diversity in their route tree. Went to 2024 Oklahoma St film. That’s a corner who’s worried about a receivers vertical speed. Impressive getting a corner to speed turn off a simple release

@LombardiHimself It’s hard to argue that if you can’t say anything negative about the Niners after today. You are just a talking head for the regime. I used to really enjoy your takes. Now it’s clear you have lost all objectivity. Sad !!

Hard to argue with the metrics/tape/vision of the 49ers' 2 picks so far. Both De'Zhaun Stribling and Romello Height are plus-performers/testers at specific skills that SF is seeking at their positions. They both look like fits. Whether or not they're good in the NFL is part of the crapshoot that extends to every draft pick. We'll see on that, but the SF strategy here isn't hard to read

Kyle’s history of drafting RB early continues: 2017 No 121 (Rd 4): Joe Williams 2021 No. 102 (Rd 3): Trey Sermon 2022 No. 93 (Rd 3): Tyrion Davis-Price 2024 No. 129 (Rd 4): Isaac Guerendo 2026 No. 90 (Rd 3): Kaelon Black Some coaches adjust from past misses - Kyle just keeps swinging. And to make it even wilder, SF traded up for three of these picks.

The Niners have drafted this year like they did in 2022 and 2023, when the felt the had a stacked roster and instead of trying to draft the best talent on the board, they went hyper niche at specific roles overdrafting guys. Those classes did not pan out well.

To elaborate, Shanahan isn’t infallible but he needs a GM who has the juice + scout’s eye to override his tendencies IMO. Lynch is his direct report even if they call it a partnership. I have ultimate faith in the scheme but the drafting, especially Rounds 1-3, must improve.
