You need to differentiate between imagination and history. The process of raising the Indian Legion in Europe didn’t start before 1942. Netaji started his operations in SE Asia around June 1943. Savarkar started his recruitment campaign before that for entirely different reasons. Not more than a handful would have joined the Brit army with the aim of joining the INA. Because Netaji didn’t start expansion of the INA before 1943, and more importantly, very few people in India had any idea that Netaji was leading the INA.
As i said Savarkar was a great man and there is enough to demonstrate his greatness. Forcibly trying to connect him with everything is not only ridiculous, but does great disservice to the great man. Fanatic fans do more harm than opponents.
